An Absolutely Great Movie.... Woke Hollywood is a pathetic environment and cannot accept this film. One of the finest movies I have seen. Very well Written and Portrayed with an excellent cast and tight script! I love this Movie!

They found them because of Ted Hinton. Hamer and gault had never even seen Clyde and Bonnie.

Great movie. I enjoyed it immensely. I love period pieces particularly true stories. Although in the ambush scene Costner/Frank Hamer is shown using a Remington model 8 which only holds 5 rounds. I counted him firing it 17 times.

Unfortunately, they still have the need to exaggerate Frank Hamer's wounds. He was shot once with a shotgun in the back and neck area. He was hit twice at Sweetwater with a 1911 in .45 auto.

Did anyone catch the miss direction in the movie, where Ivy Methvin said they would be coming from the south, they actually came from the north??

That’s correct. A logging truck which was passing by right by the scene, came from the south.

I never rank movies. I do have tiers. Top tiers for me has Godfather, Patton, Star Wars, Shootist and so on but not many. That's my top tier. I'm very happy to put The Highwaymen in the top tier too. Excellent movie from top to bottom. Time period pieces are great to watch. My folks grew up in the depression and not one thing that they told me about it wasn't seen in this movie. Everyone was great!

why no slo-mo? WHAT?!! because it's been done ever since the ending of the Penn/Beatty version in every film where someone gets shot .theatrical and TV movies have absolutely done that to death (no pun). thousands of shows & movies.for 52 years.....that's why. my favorite film of all time is the '67 version and a couple yrs. before he died I met AP at Harvard.now that I've read about Hamer, I do sort of wish he wasn't portrayed that way .ironically ,Penn referred to them as a couple of bumbs, when asked why he initially didn't want to do it. so, he was no apologist for the bloody duo. killing people on Easter and Christmas is just plain mean. no mention here of 'shooting' at the same spot in La. where it really happened ,which fascinated me .inaccurate still, it really caught my full attention ,and I've seen it twice ,so far.so, thanx, John Lee.

Controversy. I remember family arguments over the 1967 film after it was released. The Bonnie & Clyde story will always be controversial
