Thank you, Andrew, for the review and look through the box. A nice gift from the Lennon camp, and well deserved for the work that you put in. A very interesting concept and packed to the gills with intrigue and nicely produced items. Not sure why the negative comments. It is not something that you have to buy to get the music, so if you like the art of it, then why not? I did get the All Things Must Pass box, and do not regret it, but this one was a little too expensive to justify. For those that did order it, I hope that it provides a lot of enjoyment. Having recently visited Japan, I did try to order both maps, but it looks like I was too late. If you have any idea of how it may be possible to get them, let me know. There was some sort of expression of interest option for the Liverpool one but I cannot see any option for the Yoko map. I'm in the UK incidentally. I have ordered the 6CD box and will enjoy the music, I am sure. It was one of the albums I recall buying close to release time, when I first started collecting records under my own steam as a young teenager. The Uncut disc was a good introduction to the set. Have fun with your cube and hopefully pass on some more of its secrets, when appropriate. Thanks again for the detailed overview.

Andrew, Thanks for the unboxing ...enjoyed that very much but with conflicting emotions. I did mull over purchasing one when it was announced but chose not too.Now seeing the video I'm probably thankful that I made that choice. It has to be about the music only for me ..... I can't quite by the art argument. .....Its not exactly something to pull of the shelf and quickly put on the turntable. Not quite sure where the Lennon/Harrison camps are going with all the trinkets and oddities that are being peddled with the deluxe editions. I hope that Living in the material world is a standard release without the mega box set. That might cause me an Issue as its my favourite solo Beatles release........

I don't think even Lennon himself would have thought that an album that was re-released on the budget 'Music for Pleasure' label was worthy of this hyperexpensive overblown treatment, but if it funds more physical media releases then I suppose it's ok. Having said that, the 2002 remix by Peter Cobbin was miles better than the original. I'm looking forward to the Super Deluxe Peter Jackson remix of the Star Club tapes, with Star Club ashtray, beer mug, West German work permits, and bottles of Prellies and antibiotics...

I am happy for you... but, for me, this defines the terms theater of the absurd , not to mention bloated excess. After the LP's and CD/blu ray box, which should run , at most around $500.00 for all the music (12 songs in different configurations without including the hidden tracks), it is an extra $800.00 for lots of cardboard, trinkets, paper and narcissistic stuff of nonsense. At least they threw in a UV torch. I just received the gorgeous Jethro Tull "Bursting Out" book box set. 3 CD's, 3 DVD's with high res surround mixes, an hour video "Live At Madison Square Garden" included, a beautiful book full of information, color photos, etc.... for $67.00. Enough said.

This really is a beautiful box set, but I have to say that this not going to be a set that is going to be played very much, if at all, as this is a very elaborate box to open. However should I be successful with the Euromillions I may consider buying a copy.. Keep your fingers crossed.. I'm now convinced that those are Star constellations on the inside of the first layer, and that and numerology are going to be the keys to solving the puzzles/mind games..

Although a born Scouser and avid Lennon fan it would be a dream to have this box but I understand the Lennon estate needs to appeal to different fans with different financial price points. I think Sean is doing great things with his dad's work and look forward to seeing future releases. I'd love to see a documentary style film for the album. It would be great with each release to take a deep dive. Keep up the good work and great to see you rewarded in this way with the box.

For this one I'm going to settle on the 2 CD set for this one because the price on Amazon for the 6 disc/2 Blu ray and Hardcover book is almost $300 with shipping and handling...and Baby I'm not a rich man and I do have the Gimme Some Truth box, Imagine Super Deluxe, and POB Super Deluxe but I think Mind Games I think is definitely a weaker album compared to those two

While you are certainly most grateful to the Lennon Estate, do I sense a bit of you being a little underwhelmed by this seemingly overwhelming cube. Yes, it’s artsy to be sure, but aside from the book and the musical media (and the flag), isn’t it all a bunch of paper and cardboard ephemera that will ultimately be re-boxed and sit on a shelf? I seem to sense that this is not something you would have bought yourself even if money were not an issue.

Thanks for the unboxing, Andrew. I quickly realized that this is definitely not the version to buy if you are primarily interested in the music; too much effort in the unpacking/repacking. A hoarder's delight, however!

I love The Beatles. I love a lot of the music they recorded as solo artists. But...to spend that kind of money on the box set -or even buy the 2-album set- is crazy, imho. The only 2 songs I know on the album are 'Mind Games' and 'One Day At A Time'. To spend big money in the hopes that the rest of the songs will grow on me is over the top. In any case, congrats on your free deluxe box. Thanks for sharing.

I can't get over how much of this box set is somehow devoted to Yoko -- or Yoko's "art" -- when she reportedly had little or no involvement in the making of the Mind Games LP.

A very comprehensive unboxing - thanks for posting. It’s a bit more than the £2.99 I paid for the MFP release of Mind Games from Woolworth’s back in the day but that’s inflation for you. It didn’t come in its own plastic box back then but it did come in its own plastic bag and I even had a few pennies left for some pick ‘n mix 👍
