LOVE THE OLD PICS SUPERIMPOSED OVER EACH HOME, MAGICAL.

I admire the amount of research that must have gone into finding all these homes and then finding some of the old photographs to go with them, too. I really enjoy your videos.

This is a very good video. It explains a lot about where John Lennon grew up. The different homes. His uncle George Toogood Smith's family ran dairies I think.

Fantastic. I really like the way you used montages of past and present. Very moving actually. Sorry about the pun.

John Lennon told once that he lived in a middle class house and the other Beatles lived in workers class homes. Now we know he lived in poor places too as a little child. And his room in his aunt house was very small. We know that only Ringo lived in a poor house, with a bathroom for several families. Maybe that's the reason he was ill for many years as a child. Now he looks very healthy and younger as 81 years old. He cares a lot of the food he eats.

It was very common for folk to move houses as much as that in those days, everyone rented.

@@eliodue hi, you would think with all the money her son paul MCCARTNEY has, he would do the decent thing and erect a beautiful headstone on his dear mothers grave.

Ancora una volta bravissimo, Eliodue, nel riproporre la visione di questi luoghi che sono nel cuore anche di chi non li ha mai visitati. Davvero commovente.

The former maternity hospital has not been demolished but is now part of the Unite Student Village (Liverpool University).

Nice leafy area Woolton. You wouldn’t think you where in Liverpool. I don’t think he was a happy kid though, living with his Aunt Mimi. She wasn’t always the old lady you see in those interviews years later ; she had lodgers and liked younger men, even had a relationship with a chemistry student when she thought John was out of the house ! I wouldn’t have liked that set up as a kid. Of all the most famous and talented artists and musicians in history, Lennon is the only one I could visualise doing some other job like a Pastry Chef or a Waiter if the cards had fallen a different way for him. He wasn’t especially good at school, so without plucking that guitar and having independence when young, luck may have deserted him. He would probably have been a well known and liked local character nonetheless, and maybe just played in small pub bands.

@@eliodue Who knows ? Big mistake going to America and New York though. The yanks in general, saw him as an oddball. They had Elvis and Sinatra as yardsticks by which all others where measured. He’d have been better off living a bohemian lifestyle in Paris or Amsterdam if wanted to escape the U.K. It was foolish to assume he could just swan about the Big Apple like some anonymous Joe ; even the established crowd he got in with like Nielsen and others watched their step. Paul Simon was very careful were he trod.
