"I used to hide my real emotions in gobbledegook, like in In His Own Write. When I wrote teenage poems, I wrote in gobbledegook because I was always hiding my real emotions from Mimi" ~An insightful quote from John, not sure of the source but I know he said it from somewhere

I felt like I could listen to him forever his got so many insightful views way way ahead of that time ...regardless of his fame I would have loved to have known him just to talk to ... at least we have rare film of him that he left us. Imagine what he would have known now ...would he have lead a revolution by now we will never know but I think I have a good idea that he would have been very inspirational

It's pretty interesting how he looks at the camera and talks about the insane people running the world, and how it applies to the modern day.

It was at the premiere of the play that Yoko was seen with John for the first time. So not much about the play in the press the following day.

I remember reading "In his own write" being enchanted, along with the realization the Beatles were made of sterner stuff than other Beat groups.

Thank you for uploading. Didn’t know about Ronald Searle. Must investigate him. Thought I knew a thing or two about John but Ronald Searle? Would’ve thought I’d remember that name. I’d always thought it was James Thurber but maybe that was because my mother said his drawings and writings were like Thurber and James Joyce. Wonderful interview. Victor Spinetti was a name I’d read a few times in the Beatles books or Lennon books but I believe this is the first time I’ve heard him speak. Interestingly funny chap.

The most remarkable thing about The Beatles was their glaring unremarkablity. These were 4 of the most ordinary people who worked hard and developed a most remarkable musical talent. Lennon simply took ordinary things and turned them inside out and upside down and made them funmy, orginal and extrodinary in the same manner as Bob Dylan but with slightly less polish. McCartney developed his natural abilities very musically and became quite extrodinary. Harrison on the other hand greatly improved as a songwriter, guitarist and singer and Starr who was not a technical drummer was still one of the best beat group drummers in Liverpool.

Lennon had the modest, self-effacing nature about his own work, which is one of the signs of a true genius.

What he says at 11:30 is actually quite insightful, but they're not insane. It just appears that way. Everyone is watching their own movie, and they think their perception is the only rational one.

This is fantastic. Thanks for the upload. One wonders if David Bowie was watching and the phrase "sound and vision" got lodged in there somewhere. Jon Anderson of Yes to this day talks about how everything is vibrations, so that must have been an idea making the rounds in the late 60s.

Vibrations was a concept in the early to mid 60's then got real mainstream in the late 60's.

Hi Everyone, This bit of cultural history reminds me that the world, in today's digital age, is wrapped up in Intensive fear, expressive self indulgence, and controlled by a global loss of privacy. There are no heroes, no role models, and no where to turn for guidance and advice. I notice that everyone is unsure of themselves so they either coil up, or lash out! John Lennon was connected to the frequencies that govern the way that the world functions and responds. All great thinkers are aware of the power that is emitted at around 110 hz. and try to find a place in that zone. It makes you feel better, think more clearly and function more efficiently. But this isn't being taught in our schools, or talked about by our elders, so we now have a population of lost souls.. It's not too late to help people to understand that there are alternatives to having every bit of information at your fingertips. Knowledge is the key! The more you know, the more there is to be interested in. The more interests you have, the more there is to be passionate about!! That is where happiness is found, and with it comes love.. Lary
