John Lewis has apologised after one of its delivery lorries caused traffic chaos in a town in Somerset when the vehicle became stuck in a narrow lane (pictured left and right). Police and technicians went to the site and were attempting to tow the vehicle back up the hill, eventually freeing it, although a 300-year-old building was damaged in the process. It is understood that the impact took out a chunk of a corner of one of the nearby buildings, leaving a pile of rubble. The incident happened despite posters (inset) warning drivers of the risks of travelling down the lane.
