Interview in 1998 after performing with The Lounge Lizards

I'll always remember seeing the Lounge Lizards in Brussels at the end of their tour. John started complaining that they were dead tired. He fell to the floor and started mumbling "This is our last one... this is our last one...". Then he started to tap that rhythm on the floor and all the Lizards fell in "This is our last one... this is our last one...". What followed was the most frantic demonic lounge jazz concert I have ever witnessed. Legends.

I ordered the "Fishing with John" series on DVD and showed an episode to one of my classes during a shortened-up day before vacation day. It became a cult favorite. Students I didn't know came by my class to ask when we were watching "Fishing.." again. Yeah, the Dafoe episode is great. Willem, with a creep grin: "I get a little sweet around bed time." Classic.

JFK and Castro were enemies. Cuban missile crisis, bay of pigs, etc. Castro is a suspected source of JFK's assassination.

@@fishtolizard3930 Yo, Mr. WiseGuy. It's a different mouthpiece, I can see that. I was just curious about it, never seen that before. Like a trumpet mute. So, don't be rude kiddo.

Yeah like Cody said, it's just a cover that goes over the mouthpiece, when you're not playing. To protect the reed from getting bumped and chipped.

John CTV s descriptions very largely are unrecognisable to what I'm thinking. Please be aware of this. I am not obsessing and trying to restart this. I'm not playing hard to get I'm genuinely completely turned off by the situation with Natalie I'm not showing what I want this is how I feel. I am not angry not really that is snippy talking. This is over for me as I will never unsee Natalie. I never said you can do better CTV said that. Not that I'm the only person in the world either. I am not a sociopath. Natasha

As funny as the JFK bit is, I hate Conan's nervous reaction to it. He always got that way in response to edgier humor from a guest. He plays it up somewhat for comedy, but there is obviously a genuine discomfort there.

That’s not what happened here. Are you suggesting that “Fishing with John” is dumb? ...because it’s TV, too... fake fun public access television. Is TV dumb? If so, then why are we watching old TV clips on KZbin; the new fake fun public access television? Maybe we should all be watching PBS... but then, there’s “Caillou,” which stands a good chance of making kids and supervising parents dumb, or just driving us all a little more nuts for the trouble of watching such annoying, snowflake drivel.
