It’s first test was by a GOP governor who later became the party’s candidate for president -- against Obama. The last time there was a serious privatization at the federal level was when Carter was president and Dems controlled congress. They privatized airlines, trucking, and oil. The last major expansions of government were by the GOP: the creation of the TSA (which could have been private) and the expansion of Medicare. Thank Bush. Now with Trump we have growing spending, deficits and national debt. One thing about being a libertarian is that you never have to defend either of the two parties. By definition government is socialism. Be definition it is the transfer of wealth, and the GOP does it every bit as well as the Dems do.
