Dr. John MacArthur is-far and away-America’s greatest Bible teacher. In 2015, I had a burning desire to understand what the Bible really meant, however, everywhere I searched, all
I found was grossly undereducated men who called themselves “preachers” or “pastors” who were chiefly interested in:
1. Making money
2. Gaining popularity
3. Spreading a false gospel
It was quite obvious to me they had very little Biblical knowledge.
MacArthur, on the other hand, has a vast knowledge of the Bible and goes to great pains to explain it so articulately. I can honestly say that he changed the direction of my life. I am forever grateful to find such a wonderful teacher. Therefore, I’ve created this KZbin channel in order to propagate his accurate and thorough Biblical teachings.
I implore you to go directly to his website to learn more about the Word of God: www.gty.org/ Here you will find a wealth of information on virtually any subject in God’s Word. You can search by scripture, Books of the Bible, or keywords.
MacArthur is not focused on making money, unlike many false Christian preachers today. You can download his sermons for FREE! Just click on this link to go directly to his sermons.

I pray that God blesses you with a deeper understanding of the Word of God!

When he says God understands, that doesn’t mean He accepts. He understands we are sinners but He doesn’t accept our sin.

Hold on. For a saint to continuously call their self a sinner is unbiblical. If one has done and received all of Acts 2:38...then this person is effectively no longer a sinner but a Saint via. 2 Corinthians 5:17 & Romans 8:1-2; therefore commanded to be perfect/Holy according to Matthew 5:48.

@josephpujoe2306 we are sinners living under grace. If you aren’t a sinner, tell me with 100% certainty you have never sinned. Jesus died to cover our sins from God the father destroying us but he knew we would live with them. That is why we can’t purposely sin and say, “oh well God already forgave me” our heart is wicked and we can only do righteous because of God who lives inside of us. I’m no saint but I know for whatever purpose He has for me He calls me worthy. All the honor and glory of my existence is for Him.

Can't you remarry though? Since she divorced you. You didn't divorce her. Deuteronomy 24: 1-4 (calls it an abomination to remarry your ex after he/she was defiled) When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out from his house, and she leaves his house and goes and becomes another man’s wife, and if the latter husband turns against her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife, then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance

If a spouse who says they are a Christian, but does not have a desire for Church or fellowship, does not choose to be a spouse, they are not willing to parent, or assist in the house, they are violent around the children, unwilling to feed the children, showing a negative angry spirit constantly with children. How does the Church address these situations? It's not adultery, or literal abondoment, but it causes massive personal and household disruptions which create atmospheres of no peace. These situations which do occur cause a lot of Child abuse. Many Pastors are silent on this. The situations get so bad that divorces happen. Can these people remarry or are they stuck with burning in their desires? The Church really does not lead here.

In these instances, seek The Most High for answers. Unfortunately, many pastors are not equipped to help in these situations. I have heard stories of pastors telling wives to stay with abusive spouses. And no spouse should be forced to stay with a habitual adulterer. This is why The Most High gave us The Holy Spirit and discernment.

You hear that many Christian marriages were given false encouragement to lead their husband or wife, especially after the husband or wife repented and wanted to restore the marriage shows the man-made comprehension of the context of the Bible whereas Matthew was talking about the Pharisees trying to trap Jesus, and he doesn’t start off by saying to divorce your wife or husband, but he says that what God brings together let no man separate
@mikebrenneman4755

If you read Mt 19 in context, I think it dissagrees with what you said. The question was asked of Jesus by Jews under the old Law. 1. Jesus said verse 6 "let no man separate." 2. verse 7. They asked why Moses commanded a certificate of Divorce. We are not under the Law of Moses. 3. verse 8 They (Jews) had hard hearts, that is unacceptable for Christians. 4. Verse 8 "from the beginning it was no so" There is no divorce clause in the Old Testament before the Law of Moses. 5. verse 9 Except for "porneo" Again Jesus is answering the question under the Old Law, not the New Testemant. The only divorce clause in New Test. is 1 Cor 7 when an unbelieving spouse leaves. 6. God Hates divorce: Mal 2:16. So did God ever divorce Israel? Yes! For continued, unrepentance adultery. So I believe if we have a spouse that won't stop cheating, that we can follow God's example. (Just some thougts. Would love to be corrected if I'm missing something.

I am unwilling to dishonor my vow to God and divorce her, but if she leaves knowing full and well she is abandoning the covenant she made with me in front of God, that would be abandonment by an unbeliever right? No matter what someone says, if they choose “my own happiness” (her words) over God’s will then I have a hard time believing them to be a Christian.

I’m sure they will be grammar errors, I am not a perfectionist when it comes to writing. I have a question…. no argument here, from your comment I would like your opinion. A woman Dates man for two years, He is kind and thoughtful and there was no premarital sexual relationship She is young he’s six years older than her and he makes her promises for a good future. After the marriage he tells her she will never come between him and his family. He never kept his promises. Four years into the marriage he becomes abusive as in using the Bible telling her they have become one and he expects her to act like the women in pornography that he watches. He pressures her, even takes advantage to her unconsciously when she is sedated on medication. Do you believe that she should have to stay with this man? He refused counseling. Told her she is the one with the problem. He makes her feel worthless. Out of shame she has never told a soul. After 35 years. She seeks counseling and divorces him. Do you think she should never marry again and experience a good marriage?

@@chillybaby748 to answer your question, is it the fault of God that the man mistreated, lied, and sinned against his wife? God has standards for righteousness. Will you trade in your hope of Heaven and eternal life for worldly happiness, sex, and a new husband? Sure it sucks. We marry imperfect people and get imperfect results and want "do-overs," but that isn't how this works. Israel wanted a King and God was there King all along. Their Kings failed and died, over and over, time and again. A spouse may fail, but it is to God's covenant that you should be found faithful and not lacking because you want to experience "happiness" with a man.

The verse about how the church is to deal with abusers covers that. The abusers are to be rejected and left by the church so that they feel ashamed, so if a husband hits his wife and abuses her, the church (which includes his wife) must isolate him and leave him. But this isn't divorce thought. This is simply physical separation, think of it like a court order. Divorce is also granted if the unbeliever does not love the believer in the way God commanded the unification of the marriage. The only reason for divorce (and remarriage) is given in Mat 5:32 and 19:9 which is fornication. Why? Because the two that have become one are no longer one after adultery. Cannot be one with your spouse and one with someone else; it doesn't work that way. When Paul said let the unbeliever leave, he didn't say the believer may now divorce and remarry. The reason Paul said let them leave is given in the same verse: "to keep the peace"; which is achieve by separation (stay single). Paul would not be contradicting Jesus and would certainly have used divorce if he meant divorce as he did elsewhere when he meant divorce. If the unbeleiver leaves and joins with someone else, then the believer may divorce and remarry.
@garvinsmith4555
@garvinsmith4555 2 жыл бұрын
@@shadowmist1246 the unbeliever departing for the sake of peace isn't the only reason for departing. Paul also allowed the unbeliever to depart because the unbeliever is free to depart, and must depart. Must, because the believing brother in this case is born of God, his wife is not, she belongs to this world, and serves the god of this world. And we both know that it is forbidden to the people of God to have husbands or wives that serves other gods. in the OT the lord had commanded the men of Isreal not to take unto themselves foreign wives for this reason, and it was for this reason why Ezra on the return from captivey had commanded the men to divorce their foreign wives. In the NT it is also forbidden for a believer to be in any kind of relationship with an unbeliever including a marital relationship, because they are going to be unequally yoked together. He being born of God neans god the father is now his father, and because the devil is her father they are going to be unequally yoked. He being sanctified means he's been set apart as holy and because his wife is not they are going to be unequally yoked. He being translated into the kingdom of God means he belongs to the kingdom of light and because his wife belongs to the kingdom of darkness they are going to be unequally yoked, and further more, she is going to to cause him to turn away from the lord just as Solomon foreign wives caused him to turn away. Paul said the unmarried cares for the things of God that he may please the lord, but the married cares for the things of this world that he may please his wife. 1Cor 7:32-33. I believe in his attempt to please his ungodly, unbelieving wife who lusts after the things of this workd, the beother will surely turn away. We can clearly see that the unbelieving wife must depart, but in order to depart, she must be set free from the law of her husband which can only happen by the death of her husband. The purpose of being born again, is so we can be born of God. But to be born again we must die. The old man must die for the new man to live in Christ. The new man is not under the bondage of law, and that is the reason why Paul said a brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases. He's a new creature which means he's not the same man the unbelieving wife had married to, that man have passed away, he died setting the wife free from the law of her husband. Roms 7:2. We can also see here that the unbeliever is free to depart. This makes the abandonment claws obsolete. I believe that divorce is still necessary but in accordance with the law of the land. Because if they were to remarry, they will still have to prove that they are divorced. Because if they remarry without proving they are divorced, they will be proscuted by the state even though they are set free by God and is indeed free to remarry.

If you can help me by answering the questions below, I would appreciate it. 1) I have not found a text that says that a MAN abandoned (passive) by his wife commits adultery if he marries another woman or that he should remain alone; 2) a woman abandoned, even for an unjust cause (Deut. 24), could remarry (she was not to be stoned as an adulteress, Deut. 22), except to priests (Lev. 21). After the coming of the Lord, the woman unjustly abandoned can no longer marry? Was there more freedom for the abandoned woman before? Jesus said that he would not repeal the Law given by His Father. 3) Why does the text about "divorce" (or separation) appear in Luke in the middle of texts about money? 4) Why is it believed that the union of one flesh is something ontological, and there are several passages in which it is demonstrated that this does not occur (Abraham and Hagar, marriage with foreigners, relations between relatives, Ex. 22,17, I Cor. 5, I Cor .6, Deut. 24...) 5) The verbs allow and command are interchanged in Matthew 19 and Mark 10. Why does almost everyone who preaches Matthew 19 ignore this interchange in Mark 10? 6) Why do people ignore that the procedural question of the divorce certificate has value? Think with me: what was the penalty for adultery? Stoning? Not always. If there were no witnesses and she was guilty, the penalty for the same offense would be different, according to Num. 5. Why is it not noticed that God made this point in Isaiah 50 when asking where the divorce certificate would be? 7) if an unbeliever leaves his believing spouse and disappears in the world. In a short time, no one knows the whereabouts of the person, and not even if he is alive (the Brazilian Civil Code even regulates absence, by the way), the believing spouse would be prohibited from getting married permanently, because how would he know if the other died? 8) do you think that in Corinth there were no divorced people? If in Israel the concept of marriage was no longer there, in the Greek environment there was no divorce? Paul did not give the Corinthians any divorce decrees. 9) Paul told Timothy that doctrines of demons would arise: prohibition of marriages and food. Do you know anywhere banning food only to leaders? I am not. So why interpret that the ban on marriages that would arise would only be for leaders (as we usually interpret it, understanding Catholics in that position)? 10) Paul said in Romans 7 that the wife was bound to her husband unto death by the LAW, not by an indissoluble Neoplatonic ontological bond. The woman could be required by the man if he did not give her a certificate of divorce. But if he gave it, even if unjustly and because of the hardness of heart, she was not bound to him by the LAW. Paul used the rule to use a metaphor. God bless you!

The institute of Marriage didn’t change with the new covenant. Salvation did but not marriage. Jesus said the woman at the well you have had 5 husbands. He recognized the institution of marriage just by saying she has had 5 husbands. And the man she is with now is NOT her husband. So just living together and sex doesn’t make a person married. ( with Jesus response) he separated marriage and living together. Old Testament says put away your wife, certificate of divorce. Sexually immortality is the only biblical reason for divorce. Johnny Mac is SO WRONG on this! He’s using words like “assumption” and “I don’t think”. I wish folks would read Matthew 19 and Romans 7:2-3. No where in the Bible does it say you can remarry as long as your covenant spouse (your first marriage and their first marriage) is still alive. No where! Not even in the case of adultery! Not even if a person is an unbeliever! We see that’s why John the Baptist was beheaded. Because he said Herod could not have his brothers wife. God recognizes unbelievers marriages. There are no loopholes! Marriage is a law of God even BEFORE ANY other law was established. Marriage is between one man and one woman for life. Only death can break the covenant marriage vow! Then a person can remarry but ONLY in the Lord.

Clearly the Word was taken out of context. According to Jewish law women could not file for divorce. Jesus was rebuking the men for divorcing their wives for any reason. Jesus clearly said that the husbands can only be permitted to divorce if their wife was found to be unclean aka non-virgin. Most men only married virgin women so that they can verify paternity. Also, during that time the only women having sex outside of the confines of marriage were considered prostitutes.

This demonstrates the logical problem in looking at Jesus’ exception and Paul’s exception and concluding there are two grounds for divorce. If Jesus gives one, and Paul gives one, and they differ, then maybe Paul and Jesus in these contexts are not giving an address on divorce grounds in general but addressing more specific issues. We know not sinning is not an option because we're not Jesus so that's where grace comes in. However, there are consequences of our sins so if one divorces and they're forgiven, that doesn't mean they won't have to deal with the aftermath, thereafter. God will deal with us and our decisions as He chooses. As long as we look to Jesus and try to walk in holiness and to not have a hardened heart towards God, there's forgiveness. However, I do believe most people view marriage flippantly and don't understand the weight of a decision like that. So let’s throw out some questions here… If a person gets a divorce because their spouse cheats and later they remarry. Is that a sin? If so then they are living in sin daily? The only way to fix that sin is to get divorced. But if you get divorced it’s a sin? Next when two people join flesh they become one. Does that mean to God, that if you have sex with someone you are married in his eyes? If so then wouldn’t that mean people would not need to be married on paper like we believe, but as soon as you slept/sex with a person that is your spouse? If so does that not mean that every person who has had sex out of marriage is living in sin as a divorced person?

Unfortunately, this speech is a good example of bad doctrine! This preacher put so many words into the teachings to get himself lost, I don't even think he knows where he made the wrong turn. First of all, when the Bible says 'no divorce except for *fornication*' we have to ask, 'how do married people fornicate?' The answer is because during an engagement, the couple is considered married, except they haven't consummated it yet. During the wedding night, if it was determined that the woman wasn't a virgin, she could be 'divorced.' This 'divorcement' is actually an annulment to us in the modern western world. So, it is a 'putting away' of something the man won't ever use again, but still belongs to him. That's why *Messiah* said that she's committing adultery if someone else 'marries' her. Her actions aren't rewarded, she's incapable of marrying anyone else as long as her 'fiancee' lives - and in the old days, she would just be stoned anyway. The way YHWH 'divorced' (putting us away) us for playing the harlot is by He Himself dying for the penalty of the debt from the sin. Marriage is 'till death do you part,' and so, the blood required for the offense had to come from someone. So, Messiah took our place, and it dissolved our marriage to Him. His death not only freed us from the harlot label, but it freed Him from being married to one. Now, those of us who are His are *engaged* to Him, with the consummation coming after the Wedding Feast of The Lamb. Anyone not found to be part of the chaste virgin when He returns, will be 'divorced,' put away into the pit, because He's only returning for a pure and spotless bride. In the case of abandonment, you're no longer responsible for the actions of your spouse, BUT you are not unbound from them. We have to remember, why did the Disciples say, "If such is the case between a man and woman, then it is better not to marry!" The message this preacher spouted off to these people is spiritually killing christians by the truckloads, as they don't even want to hear The Truth!

Let The Most High direct people in these matters. No one but The Most High and the people involved know the details of these relationships. The Messiah said what God joined together, let no man put asunder. Maybe The Most High didn't put some people together. And maybe The Most High put some relationships asunder.

Remarriage after death is not a divorce matter. Divorce (and remarriage) is allowed for adultery of the other spouse. (Mat 5:32 and 19:9). When one reads the scriptures, it is important to differentiate instructions to prevent adultery from instructions for after adultery has occurred. Naturally, the two would be different.

True. The exception is NOT persistent adultery, like Macarthur is saying. It's fornication! Married people commit adultery. Single people commit fornication (sex before marriage). This is where I disagree with John MacArthur. "Adultery" in original manuscript used in Matt. 5:32 is "porneias",meaning fornication, NOT the Greek word "moicheia" (adultery) used in Gal. 5:19, Jhn 8:3, Mark 7:21, Mat. 15:19. Both "porneia" and "moicheia" are sins of immorality and hence, some Bible versions used the word "sexual immorality". HOWEVER, both porneia and moicheia have different meanings and therefore the correct Greek word used should be considered in interpreting the Word for proper context and application. If we used both porneia and moicheia interchangeably then we will all be erred in understanding the Word of God on this matter. Both "Adultery" and Fornication" sinners appeared in one passage: "Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God” (I Cor. 6:9-10)" The exception of "fornication" as a ground for divorce apply to betrothal under the Law where in marriages are consummated only after the two become one (intercourse). The blood-stained cloths/sheet is kept by the bride's parents as proof of virginity to protect their daughter from unwarranted divorce by the husband. Wedding ceremony/celebrations follow after this event. One example of this kind of "divorce" is Joseph and Mary. They were not "officially married" as to our standards of today (Mary was pledged or betrothed, which is already a marriage under Deuteronomy 22) and yet DIVORCE came to Joseph's mind: Matthew 1: "18This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly." There is NO Christian divorce and also remarriage while the spouse is still living. Indeed God hate divorce. God did divorce Israel but later God took them back again, remember? For christian marriages having issues with sins of immorality there is separation but all in the hope of repentance, reconciliation and getting back together again. Where there is repentance there is forgiveness, even for adultery and fornication. There is NO sin of the flesh that the blood of Christ can not wash clean. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and intentional repetitive sin are a serious offense to God though and there's no forgiveness in that but that is another matter to discuss.

@@cullenkehoe5184 "Most likely intent... Adultery"? If that is the case then why did Jesus not use "adultery" instead of fornication because afterall adultery is an illicit sex of any form of a married person other than the spouse, right? Jesus did not minced his words. It is what it is, fornication is the exception to divorce and not adultery. As I said both fornication and adultery are sexual immorality- unlawful sex of any forms. One can commit fornication if the said person is single but for a married person the Word described it as adultery, one that trespasses a bond- an exclusive covenant of God. As you can see in the Bible both fornication and adultery, although they are both sin of sexual immorality, they are distinct and also appeared in one verse: Mark 7:21, Matt. 15:19, Gal. 5:19. So why exactly did Jesus used the word fornication instead of ADULTERY as to the exception? Well, it is because at the time of Jesus traditional marriages was based on the customs and traditions of the law and I already discussed this on my first post. Virgin bride is very important to God. In the Old Testament God even condemn anyone among his covenant people committing fornication to death. The church is equated to as a virgin bride- pure, unblemished and holy. In the traditional marriage it is only upon consummation (intercourse) that the groom will know if his bride is a virgin or not. If his bride is not a virgin then obviously she already committed fornication beforehand, which is THE ground for divorce. She can not be guilty of adultery because the commission of the sin was before the marriage is consummated. When Jesus said this exception of divorce (which is fornication/porneia) to his disciples and to some Pharisees who questioned him about it (Matt. 19) they knew exactly what Jesus meant. Today, our modern world would find it hard to understand because we no longer give importance to the customs and traditions of the old based on the law of God. Besides, the laws are given to the Israelites and not to the gentiles anyway. Speaking of gentiles, haven't you wondered why Paul, the preacher to the gentiles, did not say or permitted divorce? Why was there no divorce among christians of the old anyway? Is it because there was actually NO divorce among the members of the Body of Christ because they knew what the Word is?! Didn't you notice divorce among christians is a modern issue and also frequent occurrences especially the progressive part of the world. It is already becoming acceptable among the conservative christians too including accepting LGBTQ+ among its members? Worst, some church denominations even embraced same sex marriage! Do you think this teachings of Jesus that I just said is hard to accept to you? That there is actually NO divorce in marriage except for fornication? That there is actually NO divorce in marriage even if one of the spouse commit adultery later on in the marriage? You are not alone! Even "The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.” (verse 10) Tell me, why did Jesus said this to his disciples about divorce and NO remarriage? Mark 10: "10When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.” Notice Jesus said nothing about exception and it is not only in this passage but also in Luke 16:18!

Bad advice! He fails to separate divorce from remarriage or at least makes invalid assumptions. There are cases when spouses should separate eg a woman whose husband is a danger to the lives of her or her kids. It's her duty. Does that mean she can remarry? No. When two non-believers are married and one becomes a believer but is prevented from practising his/her faith by the non-believer, the marriage is invalid and the believer may remarry. This is known as the "Pauline exception". His use of the "unbelieving" spouse is invalid. In many cases marriages are invalid. As a covenant, the spouses must undertake to live by the tenets of marriage: life-long, faithfulness and willingness to welcome children as willed by God. If any of those are not present, it is an invalid marriage and they are not married at all. The legal divorce would only be an administrative matter not a covenantal issue.

So Jesus is saying that divorce or remarriage does not break the COVENANT! Jesus said adultery, that is the sin of a MARRIED person indicating that God STILL sees them as MARRIED again! Same as Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 7:10 & 39 Malachi 2:13-17. Then Jesus says whosoever MARRIES a.... DIVORCED woman committith ADULTERY!! Indicating again for the third time neither divorce nor remarriage breaks the COVENANT!! Just like the vows we take. Also it is in the Greek present continuous tense adultery or state of being an adulterer, just like Romans 7:3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man WHILE HER HUSBAND IS STILL ALIVE, SHE IS CALLED AN ADULTERESS. Divorce does NOT equal remarriage, they are separate, two different things. There are standers all around the world waiting just like Jesus does for His bride. (The exception in Matthew is fornication during the betrothal(Jews engagement period that could be put away if not a virgin) for Jews only because gentiles were all known to have sex before married, that is why it’s only in the book of Matthew and not Mark or Luke.Matthew is written to Jews because it first starts off with Jesus’s genealogy which is proof for Jew where gentiles didn’t have the Torah and didn’t know anything about the prophecy of the messiah. Matthew uses the phrase Kingdom of Heaven where Mark and Luke uses Kingdom of God because the Jews are scared to use Gods name in vain even still today in Jews news papers the spell it G-d they have such fear and reverence of God, also you can’t even get a Jew to pronounce the name of God for anyone to even know how to say His name Yahweh)

Except for poenia... same sex marriage or incestuous marriages. God divorced but He is God. If you leave without going through long-suffering. You knew that the parents said no.... but instead you rebelled... you can not divorce... you must suffer knowing God will be reatore as God moves mountains. But if you don't trust God you will do what the world believes.... divorce. This is a great mystey... but I speak concerning Jesus and the church.

Luke 16:18 KJV Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery. Here he seems to focus more on the cause and not scriptures taken out of context. Before talking about divorce and remarriage, he needs to clarify the grounding. What's the accepted cause of divorce in the bible? Adultery, right? Once that sin has been committed, there is a cause or allowance for divorce. Remarrying does not appear to be forbidden if a marriage broke because of adultery. Or send me the passage (s) where this is stated clearly. Would you encourage your daughter to stay with an abusive and dangerous husband, knowing that he could kill her? God would send her to hell for separating from this man who clearly violated the sanctity of marriage and many other rules and commands? Personally, I don't have an answer. Do you? I know one thing, trust God and don't judge others, for you will be judged equally.

When we change the Scriptures, then we will be having these issues with what the truth of God's words are. According to the KING JAMES VERSION BIBLE, THE TRUE SCRIPTURES, Matthew 19 verse 9 "Whosoever shall put away his wife,except it be for FORNICATION, and shall marry another, committeth ADULTERY: and whoso marrieth her which is put away committeth ADULTERY". FORNICATION can only be committed by an unmarried person, while ADULTERY is committed by married person. Therefore when our LORD JESUS CHRIST used the word FORNICATION as the only ground acceptable for a man to divorce his wife, it's because if he finds out that his "virgin" wife had deceived him by knowingly declaring herself to be a virgin, when she was not, then she would have committed FORNICATION before the marriage was consumated. If her husband already knew beforehand that she wasn't a virgin, then he cannot use FORNICATION as a ground to divorce her. By changing the wording in the OTHER translations, it allows persons to have a loophole to justify divorce. The Textus Receptus is the correct manuscript in addition to over 5,000 other ancient manuscripts that are currently in existence and are in sync with their writings from which the TRUE SCRIPTURES are translated. The corrupted Codex Vaticanus held in the Vatican and the Codex Siniaticus manuscripts concocted by the unbelivers Westcott and Hort on which ALL the other bibles are based on, beginning with the Revised Standard Version in 1881 are the TWO manuscripts on which EVERY OTHER modern Bible is based on. Jesus was very clear in His defense of marriages. Matthew 19:6 "Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder". This was established from the first couple, Adam and Eve. Jesus used them as reference. It cannot be any plainer than that. Once we begin to tamper with God's preserved WORDS, we end up on a slippery slope that is unending. Hence the proliferation of these unending creation of new Bible versions which have to be continually revised. We have been warned about adding or subtracting to GOD'S WORDS. I implore everyone to make every effort and do your research on the origins of the Codex Siniaticus and Vaticanus manuscripts, how they we supposedly discovered, the thousands of corrections, amendments, subtractings and additions that are found in them. Most importantly, the beliefs, background and character of the principal persons involved with their discovery, BROOKE FOSS WESTCOTT, JOHN ANTHONY HORT, and the TRUE AUTHOR of the Codex Siniaticus, CONSTANTIN VON TISCHENDORF. You will be amazed at what you are going to discover!

What about when the spouse is physically and mentally abusive?? We all know how an abusive spouse will most definitely lead to physical and mental health issues and even death. THEY DO NOT ALWAYS CHANGE, IN ALOT OF CASES THEY GET WORSE. I'm in a marriage now that is really bad, but all I keep hearing is my minister in my ear telling me I have to make it work. I can do anything without her etc. I'm trying everything to make it work and fix our problems. I know God wants us to be happy and full of laughter but if you are always miserable... I know in my heart he would not want that for me or anyone. Any minister that endorses these marriages, when that person is hurt or even killed that minister is just as responsible as the one who is abusive for he is the reason that person stayed in the marriage. Am I wrong?? Can someone please help me? I don't want to hurt like this anymore and I am leaving this marriage, will I spend eternity in hell?

How about if you marry a divorced woman unknowingly, should you divorced her, because, "one who marries a divorced woman commits adultery"?How about if married when both were unbelievers then divorced. Later one gets saved. Is the believer supposed to reunite with his spouse whom he divorced though she is still unbeliever.

Let me help you out here without speaking directly to your scenarios. Marriage is two becoming one flesh Gen 2:24 and Mat 19:5-6. When someone commits adultery, they are no longer one flesh and the unadultering party is free to divorce and remarry. That's the principle behind Mat 5:32 and 19:9. Therefore two people going their separate ways --- unless BOTH become celibate after the divorce, how can they become one again?

So Jesus calls it adultery… an adulterous marriage and people ask well would God want a divorce? Lol Let’s ask if a homosexual couple got married and they said they loved Jesus and repented would God want them to get a divorce!? Lol If you classify your sin and say that sin goes to hell, but my adulterous marriage “God understands” THEN YOU ARE SELF RIGHTEOUS!!! All adulterous Christian’s are going to hell with the rest of them. Why because you listened to a man and YOU DIDN’T GO TO YOUR GOD because you don’t have a relationship with Him, you never asked Him.
