Very well spoken, John! Theatre organs deserve much more attention and should be preserved. There is no instrument more impressive and gorgeous than a theatre organ with its mighty and full sound.

I went to the Capital Cinema in Cardiff to see Kenneth More in the film Titanic and during the intermission a curtain pulled back at the side of the screen to revealed a organist playing the Ceniema organ He [layed for about 15 minutes or so - memories for a by gone age never forgotten that experience

No he is not. The theatre at Pomona still shows silent movies accompanied by cinema organ.

There is still a very nice Compton at Gosport. John Mann has played this one several times. So have I. Google Gosport Compton organ and find out how you can get to play it as well. It lives in Thorngate Halls Gosport. Enjoy !!
