OK, let's get weird.
What's your "thousand year dream"?
Don't have one? Well, close your eyes. Think about the beauty of your life like a link on a chain. What are the ripples, echoes, residuals of "you" that you hope could be felt in 1000 years?
Be brave. Post it in the comments.
This moment was recorded live November 23, 2019 at the @Stabal London Studio. You can listen to the live version of "The Road The Rocks and The Weeds" now on all formats : hyperurl.co/k8l8zb

This is how the great Cathedrals were made. Generations of people working on them until completion. Those who started on them never saw them completed, but it was all for the glory of God for future generations to worship in.

Thousand year dream: Publish the poetry book that I've been toying with for the past four years and let it rip hearts and ripple through generations, leaving a wake of people coming to faith. I'm four pages in on the current draft. Hopefully this is the one. Please keep it in your prayers. Thanks for encouraging us to dream big and be obedient to God and His calling on our lives.

Also, love the Star Wars influences!!! Eagerly looking forward to the full album!!! As for my thousand-year dream, I'm only in my late teens, but I'm hoping to become a historian. A lot of people my age seem to think of history as boring names and dates, with no application to their lives or modern events. My thousand-year dream is that my research will help people to understand history, enjoy learning about history, and see how God has shaped world events for his purposes.

I am a young person and I absolutely love History. When I was in school History was my best subject. Sad, so many on the Left want to destroyed our amazing Nation's History today. Kind of reminds me of the book 1984. So many of our founding fathers were Christians and believed in the Bible. None of that is taught in school today. One you of my favorite quotes is "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." God Bless you Braden.

@@bradenlawles7055 Me as well I wonder how he decided to the idea into that song. I know a lot about Greek mythology and he is 100% right about Aphrodite would not weep for those that are weak. He is also right that Zeus would not suffer for the weak. I found that to be really cool he put into the song. Normally I do not like that type of stuff in Christian Music, but I found it to be really cool. Also, I have a friend who is not a Christian yet and I told him about the song and he was impressed by he put that into the song. Thanks for the comment, God Bless my friend Luke.

@@lukestock6115 He also has a song called "Persephone". I think he often works Greek gods into his songs. Possibly it is a way to look at God through the eyes of the world, in light of other beliefs. I know that he tries to keep an open mind and allow himself to struggle and doubt. Maybe there was a period of his life he was very interested in Greek gods, and now his knowledge of them helps him see the one true God in a new light, and he wants to share it with others.

@@bradenlawles7055 His album before this one, “Mercury & Lightning,” was about his struggle with doubt and faith. The Greek pantheon was used metaphorically to describe that theme. “Peopled With Dreams” was him coming back to surety and joy in God again. So that’s why “Goodbye, Olympus” and the lines about Zeus and Aphrodite.

I am obsessed with trees. When I was thirteen, I travelled to Maryland and got to see a stand of tulip poplars that was hundreds of years old. You could say it was the redwoods of the east. My dream is to plant something like that. lots of fruit and nut trees, and grapes. to spend the rest of my life tending to a forest that I will never see fruit. But one day, maybe in a thousand years, somebody will be wondering around and stumble apon Eden.

He speaks of Zeus and Aphrodite in comparison to Jesus. Jesus is the only God that suffered for the weak, who wants a relationship, not because he needs it, but because he wants it. He brings Himself down to meet us. The parable of the sower is found in the book of Matthew chapter 13. The words of Jesus are scattered like seeds to produce a harvest. Some of the seeds fall beside the road and they are snatched up by birds (the world quickly swallows up those words before they get a chance to develop), some seeds fall in shallow or rocky soil to which they spring up but since they aren’t in a fertile and deep soil the burn up and die (someone who hears the words and accepts them but soon they abandon those words and choose what the world has to offer over God), some seeds fall among thorns (the Word of God is choked out because the believer is consumed by the problems of the world), and other seed falls in to good soil that takes root and is consistently nourished. I believe what John is saying in this song is that sometimes when we share the good news of the Gospel it doesn’t yield anything. A lot of times people, myself included, only want to share the gospel with people that seem like they would be receptive to it. We are called to be sowers and spread those seeds everywhere and sometimes those seeds go on the road, the rocks, and the weeds. Jesus gave His life to ALL not just for the good soil but for the road the rocks and the weeds. That sacrifice is producing thousands of years later after His crucifixion

I'm really not sure what my "thousand year dream" is. I've struggled with depression in the past, and the virtue of hope is not something I have an abundance of. It's hard for me to see any sort of ripple effect my presence here and now could have in 1,000 years.
