I was hesitant to post this one. I don’t talk about it much anymore. It’s painful, plus it was almost 20 years ago. Honestly, I planned all the other stories and didn’t mean to share this one that night. Still, for some reason I guess the story wanted to be told. I’m glad I I did. Hope it’s meaningful for all of you who’ve been asking about it for years. ⁣

This song has legs that just don't ever quit.. time after time, no matter when i hear it and sing along, it levels me.. I cry tears of joy every time.. God, I love you so much! But not nearly as much as you love us.. So amazing.. just knowing He loves us so so very much, girds us up and helps us get thru anything! Because He's so near to us.. God is Omnipresent and as close as our skin, listening to this song sure shows that raw emotion. His Spirit is so real and moves in us and brings us into that place we can sit in His very presence.. no wonder we weep! God bless you and thank you for writing this beautiful song..

I was driving through the mountains of Colorado working construction with three coworkers asleep in the truck when I first heard this song on the radio in the middle of the night. I was also going through an unwanted divorce and had lost everything. This song at that moment OK and everything I needed as he sang over me

We'll be doing this song in my Guitar Worship small group tonight. One of the things we like to go over is where the songs are born from. The lyrics may or may not be Bible-based but the song is born from an experience and God uses those experiences and reminds us of His word, His glory and His promises. I remember watching this streamed.. the testimony reminds me of the last time i saw my best friend Ryan before his passing... i liked to think i knew the story behind how he loves... Please John, never lose the love you sing of, because the vision of the love of jesus in these words...its beautiful beyond all ability to express.
