I hate repeating myself but the great Peter Green was a magician,the tone of his guitar is like nothing ive heard before. clapton was great and lots of others too but this god like man was at a different level.

One of the finest blues songs ever done. I believe the original is from Freddie King.

One of the mens with whom I worked, asked "Why do you own a Gibson Les Paul, if you can't play it?" and I said "Because Peter Green. and Gary Moore, play Les Pauls, so I don't need a better reason."

Thank ye kindly. On a related note, I owned a Gibson SG, which I could not play, because Tony Iommi plays a SG.

Never saw John or Peter live. But I bought this in 1967 and played the dickens out of the album. Just the best. The only live show I saw in 1967 was Jefferson Airplane at Nathan Phillip Square in Toronto,ON

When Peter got out out of his Eric emulation and got his soft touch, he got better. Eric ditched his LP and went soft, but the "woman tone" killed his playing...

Convincing himself that the world needed a second, subpar JJ Cale probably didn't help his cause any either. Don't know why he ever began to doubt himself - 'Why Does Love...' from Derek In Concert just might be the greatest live Rock and Roll performance ever committed to tape.

Green is the man. but sounds like he's pulling some real Clapton licks here -- the phrasing, the way he flirts with the major/minor third.

You don't know, Clapton has never played the blues, nor major / minor third, As some of the greats said, Clapton has the blues, but the blues never had Clapton, do not fool there has not been a white blues guitarist like Peter (no waste any note) and very close to Rory, when BB came to London he asked what Peter is doing, not Clapton, not Page, not Beck
@chriscoughlin9289 Жыл бұрын
Peter - an essentially ego - less soul himself - acknowledged living in EC's shadow in his earliest days with John. By the time of the release of Mac's first album barely a year later, his playing on a tune like 'I Loved Another Woman' had preempted any further comparison.
