The photo of JM's concert footage looks like it has the pricier headstock & pickguard... the $18,000 version!? whoh wonder what the other differences are

Good eye. It certainly is in that photo. Lots of fancy inlays, different back/side rosewood, no electronics option from the factory are the major ones.
