Such a great artist. I saw John almost to the day 20 years ago, April 5, 2002 at the Fillmore is SF. He was 24, just starting to hit big. He was great then too. A completely unknown newcomer opened for him, Norah Jones. Two great artists in a small club, incredible!

Jesus Christ that run at 3:50 is incredible! He is constantly evolving as a musician. I hope we get as much as he can give us with the time he has left.

I love that he plays the minor 4 chord for the last bar of the intro before the first verse. Always so tasty to hear any lick he plays over ir

Any guitars guys here? I've listened to a him doing this song and I prefer his old sound with his strat. To me the tone was a bit warmer and rounder....to me more a soulful sound.
@Random_dudebro2 жыл бұрын
As much as I agree, the flipside is his newer songs definitely sound better on the PRS.
@coleroberts77232 жыл бұрын
Yeah the PRS for sure is a brighter guitar. I think it has its pros and cons in a mix, but I do agree the the strat has a more soulful sound.
@selliantuttimusi67352 жыл бұрын
1000% agree. PRS sounds sterile with no depth, especially when playing his old songs. But his newer songs probably sound “better“ with PRS because they have been recorded with PRS. To me, the Fender Black One sound is his (the) best sound ever.
@matthewcofield62512 жыл бұрын
It’s certainly a brighter tone but I see it as more “different” than “worse”.

Looking back at this tour this might’ve been the best performance of any song on this entire tour. This might also be one of my favourite performances of Gravity in general… John Mayer is gonna go down in history as one of the greatest musicians of the 21st century and maybe of all time. What an artist…

Thanks for posting this!! I could listen to John play this song (or any song for that matter) all day, every day for the rest of my days. Period. His band is just absolutely phenomenal, as always. Such a special gift its been to be able to experience John's music for the past 25 years. And for the past 7 with Dead and Compay (the Dead is my first true music love and that John is a part of the Dead family makes their kusic even more special to me!)
