Those improvised solos of him are keeping my soul alive

Remember back in 06/07 when his hair was this long and everyone was like "longer hair means bluesier JM" and everyone was hyped for him to release a blues album? This solo here reminds me of that era, love it!

@SixStringSicario2 жыл бұрын
@@Flo-qw4jr tonally they are very similar but I think it’s the visual appeal that really gets lost. Like here’s this brand new hybrid somewhat copy of a Stratocaster versus an actual vintage guitar with years of use. There’s definitely a novelty to that and that is lost.

Hey just so you know, I've seen some of your videos are labeled as for children, when you post a video you can change that. When it is labeled as for children you can't add the videos to your own playlists. I've been gathering clips from the sob rock tour as I find them. There are also many other negatives when you check a video as for children so watch out for that!! Also thank you for posting these videos. you're so close and it has helped me to finish learning how to play Neon. Thank you!!

Let me tell you a story basically when D’Angelo and him was making voodoo D’Angelo made him play in a way that was like he was delaying or playing offbeat but still sounding on time it was a j dilla type thing I think he’s said it in an interview and so many people at the start was like yeah that’s not it but it started to grow on people and even on D’Angelo’s record on Black Messiah he played the same I think it’s just in him now cause he don’t even tour that much anymore

i’m just soo not a fan of his tone nowadays… and he plays with so much less flair and edge. he used to shred and play so loud. the tone now (even with the strats he plays) is thin and sounds flat. bring me back to 2009-2014 mayer.
@winslowwong97192 жыл бұрын
He used to have more of a tube screamer sound I think. It was magical with the fender strats and the dumble. I think he also stopped using his signature two rock amp too.
@Utube-s8m2 жыл бұрын
Bring me back to the trio. The TRY cd and where the light is. Sob rock was nothing like Clapton. C’mon John. This is just rehashing Gravity for the 10,000th time. He sounded better with a Fender strat and Fender amp. But tye richer you get the better gear you must have. It’s been there the whole time John. I kept an eye on his mini board, guitar and amp yrs ago at Tower Records for him. Nobody was even watching it. Right near the door too. It was simple and sounded better.
