And he left for the beginning of the John Oliver video, missing one of the funniest parts of it. Hasan can kinda be the worst streamer I've ever watched in some ways. Every time I watch the stream, he's either munching on food the whole time, getting up and walking away for minutes at a time, not really paying attention to what he's playing or supposed to be talking about, etc... it can be frustrating as a viewer. I tend to not watch his lives because of this, and even these clipped videos can be frustrating for these things a lot of the time. When he's on-point, he can be great, but he's so sloppy as a content producer.

There’s every truth to the message that just because things are bad doesn’t mean we should let it get worse. If people hold their vote back and we get Trump, that is on them and we deserve everything coming to us at that point because for once we have a real chance with Kamala unlike Hillary back those years ago. It's frustrating when he and chat literally only complain constantly about x Democrat not doing or saying y thing. He barely talks about strategy on how we can move Dems to the the left or what we can do to help support actual 3rd parties like Working Families Party grow. He'll bring organizers on occasionally but it's few and far between. Sometimes his streams gets very doomer and iv'e had to go outside of his streams to educate myself on organizing. I will post here what I posted to the original John Oliver video shortly after it went live on KZbin. "This would be almost fine, if not for how short-term it is when we've been playing a long-term game the last 70 years. Following this advice rewards disingenuous tactics that continue pushing all politics that have any power in policy to the (unregulated) libertarian, capitalist, religious fundamentalist right. Because Trump (and every candidate for the last 25 years) is such an "existential threat to democracy" who is giving a pretty mask-off depiction of a fascist, the Neo-Lib Dems in power have taken the opportunity to shift a ton to the right. Their stance on military, crime, immigration, and foreign affairs is basically where Trump was 4-8 years ago. Their policy on the economy and trade issues has likewise been eroding working and middle-class sustainability as well as communities (since Clinton). When one candidate is always the worst candidate, and the media and popular opinion only see one other candidate as viable, it de facto gives carte blanch to that only other viable candidate to do whatever the money behind them wants them to do. Harris isn't going to make things better, she's going to be yet another executive that doesn't make anything better, just another president who makes things less worse in a long line of less worse presidents, who have ultimately shifted the policies of the Democratic party more to the right than the Republican party was before Clinton. Moderates of the 80s are considered pinko commie hippies by today's standards. If you want to push for change, when do you actually start doing that? When do you support someone other than the two parties that have been in power and eroding the bedrock of the populace? Pushing for those whom aren't going to be mobilizing troops and ships and money and weapons to not only arm but also actively defend a fascist apartheid rogue state starting wars it has no business starting with 10 different countries? When do you finally make the sacrifice to actively participate in opening the window to make things actually better? While the boiling frog analogy is stupid, the concept behind it was made for these comparisons. We've been sitting in boiling water for 40 years, when do we finally jump out?"

I don't even see 'supporting' some other candidate to be very useful, beyond possibly getting some electoral attention from the Dems. I mean, everything is potentially a tool to be used, but not all tools are equally as useful. Moving the needle in a way that doesn't take decades will require working outside the electoral system. Organizing, strikes, and more 'active' forms of resistance. If Trump wins, we'll already be in the position to have to fight back. If Harris wins, the maga unrest will likely only be used as a pretext for a more authoritarian governing style, and so we are still backed further into the corner than we are right now. The options are lose little, or lose big.

Genuinely asking. In the timeline that trump wins, how do you see being able to push for change manifesting? The way its looking to me IF Trump wins and the Republicans get the Senate is that not game over for any sort of progressive movement? Seeing as its highly likely that he would be able to appoint two new SC justices I don't see how that isn't just the final nail in the coffin for Progressives. Maybe Harris would be a continuation of the right leaning status quo, but at least progressives can demonstrate and fight for causes without fear of prosecution and deportation. IMO the only path I see forward for progressives under a Trump presidency and beyond would be through (and I hate to say it) violent uprising. I just don't see how it's the right choice to gamble on a Trump victory.
