Jesus says: “Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you” (1 John 3:13). Yet He also taught us to “rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matt. 5:12, NASB).
