Trump can not make the US great again. America is already under judgment. It is too late to go back and fix things now. Empires rise and empires fall and asking God to bless America in her current state is farcical. The same God who allowed Israel to be wiped off the map is not going to save an even more decadent America. If God would not stop the Goths and the Vandals from sacking Rome in the 5th century, why should He stop the ongoing sack of America in the 21st? Most people do not realize God's been lifting His hand away for years. Nor do they see the multifaceted aspect and length of God’s judgment. It's important to understand the signs of judgment. Romans 1:18-32 is really a summary of this nation and what's happening because as people worship the creature rather than the Creator, God turns them over to their own devices. John Mac Arthur summed it up well when he said, "When you see a nation deep in sexual sin, pervasively affirming of homosexuality, abortion, and the insanity of a reprobate mind, where they make laws to criminalize righteousness and to legalize gross evil, you know that nation's under judgment.” Expect things to intensify in the years ahead. God’s love is warning us to be prepared spiritually and on a practical level for unparalleled destruction is coming. We can bemoan our nations free fall or like Habakuk, each of us can resolve that no matter what happens in America we will be able to say, “Though the fig tree does not bud and no fruit is on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the sheep are cut off from the fold and no cattle are in the stalls, yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation” Hab. 3:17,18.

In one sense you can say that He delivered us from evil but that doesn't mean He stops delivering us from evil. There's several examples in the New Testament after the death and resurrection of Christ of God delivering His believers from evil. There's a lot of examples in church history all the way to current events of God delivering us from evil. Let us celebrate that Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected. Let us give praise and glory to God for the cross and Christ's resurrection. Let us also praise and glorify God for delivering us from evil today. There is no scripture that counters the idea of praise and glorifying God today. There is plenty of scriptures that encourages us to praise and glorify God.

I don’t have an hour to listen to this now (although I will and often do), however, I must defend pastor and theologian, John Piper for his remarks regarding the election results. He is spot on!!! Although Piper has said much about his lack of support for Trump, he does not endorse the other side either. We have exchanged one evil for another and if you cannot see that, you are quite naive. You certainly have liberty to weigh the options and arrive at your conclusion to vote one way or the other but to not recognize the evil of which John Piper speaks is quite obstinate. I believe it was Piper that did not vote in 2020 and his comment regarding this most recent election speaks to the fact that Jesus is the ultimate king and Donald Trump isn’t the savior of culture. I do pray for him and his cabinet picks as all Christians should but we are free to discern when Trump is veering in the ditch and should not hesitate to call it out. I think what is so disarming and troubling for many Christ followers including myself, is when Trump supporters cannot speak out against anything he says or does politically, personally, or in his official role as president. It makes many of us wonder what kind of spell, cult, or delusion you’ve fallen for when there is zero objectivity. That blindness is completely un-Relatable.

I'm THRILLED TO DEATH about the outcome of this election! And pretty surprised about Piper's comment, actually. Did he listen to all Trump's many many podcast conversations? Trump used to "disgust" me when he spoke. At all. This time around, however, I listened for CONTENT and was pretty much converted to understand his heart on matters. I do believe that God is using him, putting him in place here, but it's as much in order to drain the swamp and allow for brilliant minds with integrity to be placed into positions of leadership. Sermons are incredibly necessary for our growth. Think of Timothy interpreting Paul’s parchment to the church. There are always leaders that are sound. I’d say don’t count them out, add it to your bible reading.

Derek Prince and Adrian Rogers are both sound preachers, although one was Pentecostal and the other Baptist. Their both dead, so that can't end up being false prophets.

Allie, I wonder how the conversation you and I would have would go. I let Jesus into my heart less than a month ago. I was very one sided and very lost previously. I grew up VERY liberal. But in my soul always felt god's convictions, and without knwoing HE was guiding me. Now I am trying to find the truth but within the scripture and through my relationship with god. Yes, John Piper went woke back in 2019 along with deceased Tim Keller (remember how he got so wishy-washy about abortion? 😡). Anyhow the PCA, SBC, Gospel Coalition etc all have strayed from the narrow path. Thankfully we found that the Reformed Baptists have stayed true to the gospel. Praise God for His mercy!!
