The correspondence between the dove and the new jerusalem both descending from heaven is verification to me that the dove represents Yeshua calling back israel(who is like a foolish dove, he rew wird is Jonah). This is in the book of Hosea. Also explains all if the number 10s in John Gospel as the 10 lost tribes of northern israel are all over this gospel.
