I would argue that he is worse. Having the highest position (Chief Justice) he has a higher responsibility than his colleagues do. Part of his role is to see to it that the Supreme Court manages to maintain the faith and trust of the American public and to see to it that this institution is held to the highest standards. But under his tenure he has overseen public faith in this Court fall to its lowest level ever. There is no trust in those who sit beside him and people have come to see just how corrupt some of those that Roberts calls his friends really are. Instead of being one of the most trusted branches of authority in the nation, the Supreme Court has shown that it can be bought by rich individuals. As the frosting to this particularly nasty cake - Roberts sat back and allowed clearly conflicted members of the court to sit in judgment on trials that they had no right to. For these reasons I would say that Roberts is perhaps worse than Thomas, Alito or Gorsuch.

Nice try, Harry. Are we now entering the era of rehabbing our Supreme Court Justices? Roberts is just as responsible for the degradation of this Court as are Alito, Thomas, and the rest of them. Between the conflicts of interest involving his wife's firm, his refusal to testify before Congress, and the unforgivably unconstitutional abomination of his Immunity Decision, nothing short of a public apology would suffice in starting his rehab efforts. He could not control Alito and Thomas, who have made it abundantly clear that they couldn't care less about the Separation of Church and State and the appearance of a conflict of interest. As a criminal defense attorney and prosecutor for 42 years, the legacy of this court makes me wonder if I just wasted my time going to law school and practicing law. Extreme, you say? Based on Robert's ethically challenged opinion, Constitutional Law can now be reduced to a one-hour course: "It's whatever the President says it is."

I would question why is it that the Department of Justice hasn't launched an investigation into the many reports of corrupt activity surrounding some of those who sit on the Supreme Court. Is it a fear (by Merrick Garland) of being accused of acting politically (again)? Is it that he does not want to further stain the reputation of the Supreme Court with possible criminal charges against some of those who he might have once called his colleagues? Whatever it is, Garland needs to grow a spine. This corruption has infected the highest court in the land and now we're seeing blatantly political decisions being made. Not for the good of the country - But only for the good of one man. Donald Trump. Garland has a sworn duty and if does not act on this then he is breaking his own oath of office.

Lay out a plan to ask the DoJ to investigate all allegations of corrupt activity by the Justices, any aid or comfort given to January 6 rioters by their spouses and charges of fraud against any of them who failed to report gifts or benefits with any kind of monetary value (separate charges for each instance). Policing corruption by those who sit on the highest court in the land cannot be left to those very same people who are corrupt. Roberts, Alito and Thomas have quite simply been putting their political leanings ahead of Justice, and as such they should not be on the Supreme Court, which should make rulings and dispense Justice in a completely unbiased way.

It's hard being Roberts, Chief Justice of the Thomas Court. It's also hard to maintain the level of corruption he and his cohorts have achieved.
