My sister used to sing this to me back in the day, then we used to discuss what we would do when we were little old ladies. I am that little old lady on my own. My sister passed away nearly 40 years ago - if we'd only had time.

What a coincidence. I was JUST thinking of my sister who passed away nearly 40 years ago. She was 8 years older than me and her daughter recently had her second child and named her after my sister.

The greatest singer I have ever heard . I said it when I first heard his voice all those decades ago . He is still the best . This wonderfully talented man should have been a huge international mega star . His voice has richness, and power, and a spirit in it that connects you to it and to him. That's something Jones and Humperdinck, good as they are, just simply don't have . The only other singer on this planet that had that mysterious quality too was ELVIS . John Rowles and Elvis were two men who were gifted from above . Your lucky to see that kind of talent once in a lifetime , we got it twice . What different paths their lives took though. Perhaps John was the fortunate one because he is still with us today . No global mega stardom and no riches beyond measure , but he is still alive and well and happy with a good and faithful wife and family . Money is an enormous asset, but it wont buy you what's important in life . You can have the finest house , but it wont buy you a home . You can have the finest bed, but it wont buy you sleep , and you can eat the the finest of foods but it wont buy you an appetite and you can have the most beautiful girl by your side , but it wont buy you love . Yes , I think John was the lucky one . I still listen to this man's amazing voice today. What a talent he was and is . Thank you for this video .

12 years after you wrote this comment, I often remerber your story, and your advice to tell the people, what you want to tell. And I want to thank you for sharing your story, because it helped me. If I could ask you a question: Do you have still the record of the song? And do you still listen to it? Greetings from Germany

Whenever I listen to this song I think about all Family members long gone. And wish I had time back to let them know how i felt. Instead of having my head up my own backside. Miss them.

One of the most achievements in music in our human life. We all can relate the song to our life experience for good or for bad.

Loved this song when I first heard it thought it was really good then and I'd be about 14 y old. It's so true about time and how quickly it goes by. Enjoy your time while you're here. I'm almost 65 now and I still love this song and it is still as powerful as it was then .

This great song came out in UK in April 1968. I remember it so well as I got pissed drunk at the Stella Maris seamens club in London with mates on the City of Glasgow a UK cargo ship. This was in the juke box and it played and played as we got more and more pissed. Bravo John & thanks for the memory.
