Just a fantastic discussion. Something Dan has LONG been interested in…following the money. Both of these guys are beyond smart in sports money and Dan is a great ringleader. I get why Skipper and ESPN parted ways (though I think Iger should have worked harder to urge Skipper into rehab and “your job is here whenever you want to come back”…though John may not have wanted that).

ESPN did help the inflation of the NFL... However, MLB would not exceed the NFL even if they gave it teh same air time due to the fact that the sport is long, boring, and very hard to follow with 168 games... What MLB needs to do is copy what Cricket did.. reduce innings to a short and exciting format

Completely agree. And still carries a HUGE grudge into a whine -fest with Skipper about counting minutes, that Skipper didn’t care about MLB and told SportsCenter what to focus on. I mean, I really do like David, but lord, give it a rest! Look at the numbers. Sorry sports purists, but the NFL is the thing. They’ve created a year-round calendar to always be talked about. Pre-season, season, post-season, post-season wrap up, draft order, draft prep, draft, pre-season. I mean, it’s genius. And…labor peace. MLB misses its start date due to a lock-out? Well…hmmmm
