No f***** way!!! I've known this song for like quarter of a century, by Pretty Maids. Has always been my favourite, a fantastic song. I was in Dublin, at a gig dedicated to Phil, where Gary and all the Lizzy members played, back in 2005, and had no idea that Phil had sung this song. And now, 2017, I listen to the song again by Pretty Maids live and I think, "That's funny, that guitarist is wearing a Thin Lizzy t-shirt". And the next video... is this! No way, how could I have been missing this for so long? Duh.... Still like the Pretty Maids version more, though. Better vocals, imho, and longer solo, too.
@Cynwidion6 жыл бұрын
I only just found out today too, that the original was by John Sykes and Phil Lynott. Never knew it before. I saw a comment elsewhere on the Pretty Maids version saying they preferred the original, and I thought, well this *is* the original, but before replying to the comment I thought again, hang on, what if it isn't? Though I also grew up with the Pretty Maids version and that is the version I prefer. I just like the chorus sung an octave higher, just makes it work better somehow.
