It's a beautiful song and he was a phenomenal songwriter phil Lynott and wrote some amazing lyrics when Thin Lizzy was in their prime, he sadly died very young himself January 4 1986 only 36 years of age, that's too young. I know from Personal experience that it doesn't matter what age ppl die when it is someone close to you, I lost my dad in 1991 he was 44 my mother died last year and was 75 but it makes no difference and she is only gone because the hospital made a mistake. I hope your memories of your mother is still as precious and Bright as they were when she was still by your side..💞 I still forget sometimes that my mother is gone and it is like getting the message again every time... All the best C hope u r fine.

I'm a die hard Lynott-fan and I remember hearing this song back in 82, thinking "God this is cheezy crap!" :) But now.. Philips voice has always been magic to me. Now I find myself listening and singing it over and over again! "They same times must change, but I'm not so sure" - yes I am! :) Rest in peace Black Rose of Ireland. You will forever be my king of rock!
