00:20 Old drunk John Wayne serves legal papers on a rat. I read that in England, in days long gone, rats and other animals were often put on trial. Naturally the animals usually lost their cases. There was one account where a particularly clever lawyer won the court case for the rats. A monastery wanted to evict some rats that had taken up residence in their grain silo. When the rats didn't show up for their court date, the lawyer argued they had to be guaranteed safe passage to and from the court house like any other defendant. But the townspeople couldn't do that because of all the cats in the town, so the case against them was dismissed. The monastery had to move their grain. True story from a very old book called "Incredulities, Past and Present".

@@rhysmeyrick615 From Norway? I thought that was an English story. I readit in an old book printing in the late 19th century "Credulities, Past and present". I don't remember what word was used for the grain storage container in the book- we use 'silo' here in New Zealand, so i just used that. Greek origin apparently..

Great acting by Red Buttons in HATARI (1962) in this scene where his character Pockets gets shit-faced drunk from failing to observe his rocket netting all those monkeys trapped in a tree. Riotous.
