The Ruska Roma (Wicks adoptive family) gives all of their children that are "adopted" a ticket. The ticket is a favor that must be honored, much like a marker but specifically for the Ruska Roma. John earned his ticket when he was adopted by the Tarasov Mob (The antagonists in the first film). The Adjudicators are agents of the high table and representatives of the Elder. According to lore there are only 7 or 8 Adjudicators, and each are considerably dangerous. They are easily identified by the black coins they carry and the tattoos on their necks. The only two we know about is Adjudicator Wrath from the comic and Adjudicator Empathy, the one in this film. Empathy believes in giving people second chances providing them prove themselves worthy. Hence why she didn't outright kill The Director, The Bowery King, or Winston. In the comics Wrath de-consecrated a continental and killed the entire staff by himself. All continental hotels mint their own gold coins and act independently of each other. The managers of the hotels are essentially retired crime bosses that no longer do their own dirty work. If John never got out, he would end up as a manager himself. While these hotels operate under the table, the table has no true power over them because they are a neutral party. The entire staff is loyal to the manager. You see this in part 2 where Dantonio wanted Winston to take away John's membership, and here where Winston refuses to step down. After what Sophia's done, She will be safe as long as she stays in her hotel until an Adjudicator comes knocking, but its unlikely because she was fulfilling a marker and she wasn't acting against the high table. The Bowery is essentially a information trafficking network created by the Bowery King. The Bowery was unaffiliated with the High Table until the Bowery King offered its services. It's the man reason the king refused to step down. It's literally his service, and if he gets removed, then the whole intelligence network goes down with him.

H Man is right about these movies and color. John has a certain color (I think greenish) that basically means he's in his element. In the first movie at the club would be a perfect movie to notice it in.

Im pretty sure John knew what Winston was doing there cause when he sees him in the 4th movie he never questions why Winston shot him nor does he seem angry at him. John knew that was what Winston had to do to get the hotel back which if he hadn't, there would be alot more problems in chapter 4. So yeah, It was kinda planned. Only John was never told and just had to go with it.

Parabelum is my top John Wick movie. The most impressive part is that I heard that in the first fight with the glass cabinets and knives, the breaking and shattering glass was all cg and no one noticed because the effect was so good.

The scene where he quickly assembles the pistol and listens to the rotation is homage to The Good The Bad Ugly, Tuco does the gun assembling and listening, Eastwood as Man with No Name does the quick assembly in nick of time to shoot the baddie coming through the door. The baddie that dodges by bending backwards to John's knife throw is so reminiscent of Matrix, cannot be coincidence, lots of easter eggs

In the underwater shooting it may seem odd but the high the power of the weapon the less effective it is in water. High power rifle rounds are known to break apart in a foot or two in water, and the fragments lose all their energy.

Yesssss Raid is amazing. The guys John fightss in the end are the main martial arts choreograaphers and actors in the Raid movies and other action films. They're so good they had to drastically slow down their movements so 50 year old Keanu could keep up. Even still you can see a lot of the moves are heavily telegraphed and he's moving before they do. Stil great sequences, but it's a fun little observation. One really amazing one shot action scene is in the original Old Boy but that's a ....very different type of movie And Kung Fu Hustle is something I've loved since childhood. Stephen Chow is brilliant
