The allies would've done nothing for Finland at that time in the war. Without Nazi Germany's support Finland would've sadly been annexed by the Soviets
@craig-michaelkierce13667 күн бұрын
Nazi collaborators? Finland was invaded by the Soviets. Germany supplied the People of Finland against the Soviet invaders. Maybe the Finns should not have agreed to any outside help, and just rolled over and died? That would be nooo. In the West, we are also just taught that it was Germany that invaded Poland, in September of 1939. No bueno, of course. But, students are not usually informed that the Soviets did the same thing, 16 days later. They had made an agreement with the Nazis in August, the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, that divided Poland between Germany and the USSR. Another no bueno. Two evil empires taking what they could. However, it was the combined Republics of the Soviet Union that caused the defeat of Germany in WW II. America, above all others, with help from other Western Allies, kept the USSR fed, clothed, and supplied with guns, ammo, trucks, tanks, planes, etc., to help fight the Nazis. The overwhelming majority of German military deaths, was on the Eastern Front. It was the unbelievable sacrifice of the people of the Soviet Union, with their 27 million that died fighting the invaders, that destroyed the Nazi War Machine. Some might say that two forces of Evil canceled each other out.

@jasonfrostt32315 күн бұрын
Yes, we did. Because Finland collaborated with nazi and nazi artillery could fire edge of Saint-Petersburg from Finland territory.
@jasonfrostt32315 күн бұрын
And Finland is very remorseful about that behavior. The first one repented, the first one paid all the reparations, and she still repents - they made a movie about how they actually don't like Nazism. Finland is doing well, it would be nice if the whole of Europe were like Finland. And even better, there should be no Nazism at all, but that's too difficult, judging by the current news.
