just superb. To me Vivaldi was/is the ultimate and the best. The most complete musician and composer. He is so under rated. This composition along with many of his others is profection marriage of instruments and musical melody 👏👏

utube does this to all of the old videos they sponsored. so go complain to them pls if u know where to contact. there's no reason for dem to do sheit like dat bc. memory bytes r cheap n they have 10s of thousands of servers they can add more memories in their network n they get nuf $$$ from all these pop-up screen sheit adverts now, which even B4 that scheme, they were n still getting good amt of $$$ from the ISPs we use everytime we vist utube's site. No reason for us to tolerate junk repeating adverts.

I've always tried to imagine the mood of a composer, like Vivaldi, when composing a work. This piece speaks to me of both joy and quiet reflection all at once.

I fell in love with the Largo part of this piece many years ago, before the WW Web existed. I had heard it in a movie soundtrack as a young woman, and was so moved by it, that I wanted it played at my wedding one day. But I didn't know the name of it, mistook it for part of the Four Seasons, and I couldn't find it. Turned out my fiancé's folks provided a lovely church choral group, so all was well! Nonetheless, I'm so very happy to hear this again!

Usually they used to play it slower. That would radiate a bit more dignity - in my opinion.

I agree that this ranks with any of the seasons concerti, but there are some from l'estro armonico that are no less amazing - and Bach seems to have thought so, too, having reorchestrated several for either 3 or 4 harpsichords or organ.

I get sense that the guitarist isn't feeling anything much in the second movement and the piece just breezes along. This is one of the most touching inward-turning movements Vivaldi wrote and I'll say this. Vivaldi could NOT have composed this piece unless he felt something, no matter how much of music-making machine he and composers of that era were. If not passion it was LOVE that drove anyone to choose a perilous career composing. Vivaldi composed because he could not have done otherwise....like breathing.
