Why is the lateral guidance kept at 30 while zeeroing ?

do we always mount the lower cast by raising the incisal pin? arbitrarily raising the pin won't add to any error? how do the casts go into mip after mounting if the thickness of the record is more?

Why was the orbital pointer not used for orientation of the maxillary cast ? What is the role of orbital pointer if not to be used ??

In this video they are indirect mounting. The mounting platform with the transfer assembly already has captured the occlusal plane. If they were direct mounting (actually attaching the bow to the articulator) that is when the orbital indicator is utilized. Thank you once again , I was looking for edentulous patient's orientation and horizontal jaw relation ,using a hanau ( wide vue ) and whipmix sringbow facebow . Want to watch if I am making any mistakes doing so , so that I can correct my technique if it's flawed . Regards

Why zeroing at 30 degrees in condylar and side shift

The 30 degree condylar angle is standard as most patients on average have this angle naturally in their jaw movements.

Whip Mix Corporation I did understand that but is the 30 degree significant during centric, i believe these numbers are of value when we r in excursion...please correct me if I m wrong...tq again for ur response

You are correct 30 degrees only really becomes a factor in excursive movements. In centric it is just more of a straight forward hinge movement at the condylar ball.

Magnificent presentation. I have one doubts, while mounting Maxillary cast during initial setting you are keeping free, will you think is it make changes in vertical dimensions ??? Thank you

The maxillary cast is supported using a face-bow support. If you have properly and accurately registered the cusp tips in the record then the maxillary cast should seat firmly without the need for additional holding devices. You have to check to make sure the cast is free of nodules and distortions and should confirm that the cast seats firmly in the record.
