You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzbin.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

I admire people who take pride in the look and style of their shop. Many people claim “it’s just a workshop” or “it’s just a workbench that’s going to be abused”. Well, yes. But if your going to take the time to make something anyway, why not use it to get more practice and make it nice, functional, and appealing to the eye. I personally think if your shop is an atmosphere that you love being surrounded by and being in, you’ll want to work in it more often. Nice job, but I would hate to see the bill for all that maple.😂

John, I just completed this build a few days back. Followed everything exactly as laid out in the plans and I couldn't be happier with the results. I only made one adjustment, instead of using black edge banding on the shelves I capped the edge with a piece of oak and cut in a small rabbet lip for the shelf to sit on so the weight placed on the shelves will be harder to warp the shelving material over time. Thanks, I love your channel. On to building your miter saw station next!

Stunning, John. Simply stunning. You have made some beautiful furniture in the past and even built out a beautiful home. It just seems fitting that you'd build shop furniture with the same attention to detail. I plan on building a bench/outfeed/assembly table about this size. I also plan on using 4x4's for the legs and 2x4s for the rails. My plan though is to use castle joints on top of all 6 legs. Might be overkill but I like the idea of letting the wood bear all the weight, just like with your half-laps.

Great video John! I'm brand new to woodworking and in desperate need of a workbench. I've watched what seems like hundreds of workbench build videos and yours is by far the best for someone like me. I don't have much in the way of tools.... I have a sixty year old table saw, a circular saw, a drill and a few clamps. Nevertheless, I'm certain I can build your bench because you took the time to explain everything step by step. Of course I won't be using rough sawn maple because I have no way to mill it down. I will probably be using soft wood from a big box store, but maybe I can trim it with some hardwood and make it look nice. Yours is just beautiful and so incredibly stout. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hey John, Thanks for your content. I certainly appreciate the time, effort and thought that you put into producing a nice piece of work like this (both the outfeed table and this video). I stumbled onto this video as I was looking for ideas on my CNC router table/workstation design. I am going with a different top and drawer cabinet configuration, but I love your lap joint process on the base frame as well as your simple (but strong) cabinet carcass assembly into the workstation. I think I have this figured out now but I went ahead and purchased your plan. Good video my friend and buying your plan will help you continue to create great content like this and... I have a nice addition to my library. Subscribed.

Job Well Done! A very realistic approach with out over building it with a million drawers. Giving yourself time to both think and organize what you’ll actually need and use in the future was the best Approach you could have done. As for your short sided mistake just add a second side trim piece to all 3 sides and then it will be flush and balanced with the table saw. Again Job Well Done

For those of us working out of smallish garage settings, sinking a router plate in an outfeed table like yours so it can do double duty as a router table is also a terrific use of space. My shop is so small I actually built an extended wing for my saw to the right of the blade and dropped the router plate into it. When the router isn't in use, I have a plug that replaces the plate and leaves me with a flat surface to work with. Hopefully some day I'll have space for a real outfeed table.

That's the nicest out feed table I've ever seen. Good job. Your dust extraction for your table saw is also incredibly good. As a viewer, I almost never hit the like button when I watch a video, even if I liked it. But when the creator reminds me in the video I will do it. It's definitely effective to ask your viewers to hit the like button.

New subscriber, just found your channel today. Loved this project. Great job! I'm in dire need of a good outfeed table setup and I think I found a winner. Now to finish three other projects so I can find my table saw again.

A really nice-size, solid table for the SawStop. This is the same saw I have and I've been checking out a lot of projects for ideas. I like the dimensions of your table a lot, and the way you built it. You use a lot of Norm Abram-style techniques in the build that give this table a ton of strength and functionality. The sandwich top with replaceable surface, for example, and the strong lap joints. The lap joints lend themselves to fabrication with stacked dimensional lumber rather than thick hardwood stock, which would save cost, but the maple does look beautiful. The drawers look great too. If you wanted to, you could always double up the edge banding to build up the width of the tabletop to match the saw width, but it's purely cosmetic. Thanks for sharing the build.

This is a great guild. I’ll have to remember this. I’m putting off building an outfeed table because I want to upgrade my saw to a sawstop. But I still learned a lot in this video.
