I’m 65 this February and married 45 years this April. I loved every minute of this video of you and your wife building this project. It’s not often you can build lasting memories like this. This one you both will remember each time you look at the table. What a joy.

First of all, the table and bench is beautiful! I've been into woodworking projects for the last 7 years and I often find videos such as yours to be very helpful. Thank you for sharing this project. It has inspired me to make the very same table and bench myself. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Taylor, what a great job you did. I helped my daughter and son-in-law refurbish a 1972 Airstream this past summer and you reminded me of her the way you jumped right in and weren't afraid to use the power tools and learn new skills. Now don't be surprised if you get the itch to make something else, because this is how it all starts. You'll always remember the 1st project you worked on (I still do and I'm 65 now and my 1st project was in shop class in high school when I was 15). Well done!!!

Wow! Your wife is amazing! It's not always easy to learn a skill from your spouse (either direction). She simply showed NO fear and did a great job! (I've been doing some of what she did for 4 years now, and I still get a little apprehensive facing those powerful tools. (No, I did not learn from my husband. We just think completely differently, but KZbin videos like yours have been my friend.)
@michaelkulczyk864211 ай бұрын
You both did a great job. You prepared a significant project ( not just a cutting board) and explained everything in the process and kept her safe. She just jumped right in and listened to you and followed directions. I am sure this will bring you two closer together. She can appreciate more what you do and has a sense of accomplishment for herself. She did almost all of the labor. She can get some feeling for what you do and why and see how complex things can be and the need for vorrect procedures. I think more couples should try to do something similar.

@@JohnBuildsIt ha ha. I’m sure. It’s really nice to hear a KZbinr explain things that never make it in to a normal build video. Or to see little details - like how you explained that your black workbench top is square and when you assembled the base for the first time it was out of square by 1/8” so you moved it and clamped it to be square with your workbench. Those little details are so helpful! When I watch videos like yours it seems like everything is perfect every time and you never have to make little adjustments like that.

You're extremely fortunate that your wife is willing to learn and use all of the tools required for this. I learned a long time ago to get my wife involved in almost all of the projects that she wanted me to do, just to see what was involved. Not surprisingly, the project volume has come down significantly over the years. - Chris
