It’s sad to hear a church wouldn’t be caring of an individual who has been sexually assaulted. Wishing Lynn all the best!

Happens all the time. They tend to protect the aggressor for reasons I don't understand. Perhaps trying to protect the church/institution. One time after a call similar to this, Delony got so angry at the church that had protected the aggressor and had shamed the young lady who was molested. I think on that case she was a minor, and they hadn't backed her up, nor had they followed through on legal obligations against the perpetrator. Dr. D. walked out and didn't finish the episode. Because he said that kind of crap is way too common.

I was in the service when they froze our pay and the people that finachelly couldn't afford gas to come in or decided not to if they weren't getting paid were cm or went to captains mast. 2 government jobs sounds great but historically there have been issues.

So a few questions for dr J… and please don’t attack me because I’m legitimately asking. Why is her parents fault that she didn’t feel like she could come to them and be honest? I think that is part of the movie playing in her mind and obviously her parents aren’t on this call but from a parent of 3 kids who are grown I have 2 that have learned to communicate with me about way more than I necessarily need to know- which is great- and one who continually insist that she has no one because she’s been exciled from the family. This statement isn’t true. I am constantly reaching out to her. Try to help or guide her anytime she asks but she just retreats and blames everyone else on her decisions. She has a history of drugs and bad choices so when she is getting high I feel that she has chosen to do this over spending thanksgiving or Christmas or her kids bdays(kids I am now raising) with us??? But if you were to talk to her she would say it’s because of how she feels like we’re leaving her out. I had to call the police so they could force her back into rehab which was so hard to do but necessary unless I wanted to end up with her dead which I don’t. I truly love her and still want her to turn it around but I am not willing to “take the blame” for her thoughts. As far as the way the church responded no it wasn’t right but they were trying. They aren’t always trained to handle these situations and should’ve done better but it’s crazy to blame the church. Yep there are a lot of bad people in the church but she didn’t bring the problem to them immediately or maybe they could’ve handled it better. I don’t know but I’ve heard you say to others to put the bricks in your backpack down so why is it ok for her to keep carrying this around and blaming everyone except herself for not addressing the problem immediately or even honestly until way later?

This was a tough interaction with the first caller. John says “does it honor you” …um. No, the first question should always be : does it honor God? If it does then it should honor me. Very simple.

I think his point wasn’t to discount honoring God, but just to include herself after honoring God.

What if God's plan of confining intimacy to marriage is an act of honoring and dignifying God's image bearers? Choosing to live in a way that honors ourselves (according to God's word) will in turn honor God.

John I really think you need to refer some of these people to therapy before you start barking orders for them to just take action. They need a plan not another knee jerk reaction from a traumatized mind.

You may not care about politics, but politics cares about you. Delony I would love to return to your side as someone who also used to completely ignore politics. Then it started coming for me and I cant ignore it. Try taking those beliefs of ignoring politics to a war torn country. Or the southern border counties. Politicians ruin lives and force their way into our lives more and more cause they won't leave us alone. I'd love to ignore them again... But I cant as long as I wish to protect the freedom of my family for the future.
@sawyersprott Жыл бұрын
I think his point is more what can you actually do about it, and what are the real effects on your life. I have pretty strong beliefs, but I don’t let the daily noise from politics effect me. I’m one person, and unless I want to devote my life to politics, there’s not much I can do other than voting, and I’m okay with that. The US isn’t a war torn country, so that doesn’t really make sense, and the southern border is in unacceptable condition, but is there really anything that you can do about it right now? If not, then you’re just making your own life worse for basically no reason.
@droptozro Жыл бұрын
@@sawyersprott This will be one sided, but let me be clear just in MY life and how politics directly affected me. I used to be completely ignorant of politics and happy about it until a President forced me to get healthcare under his plan or be financially punished. Then, I cared. Then in 2021, another President tried to get me fired from my long-term job for not taking a vaccine I didn't need(or get tested every couple weeks). I can do a lot about it, including revolt honestly if needed. As long as we look at these politician created problems and say "We can do nothing" then we're just falling into slavery. Honestly, I could go on way more--but my point was just because we live in the US, doesn't mean we should ignore politics. There are plenty of other countries where politics have even recently completely screwed the country up(see Sri Lanka revolting in the last 6 months, or Dutch Farmers farms being threatened by politicians). They're coming for us... so I can't ignore it anymore as much as I'd wish to do so.

I'm sorry , but there's exactly 5 men in the world who will wait for a non-virgin , specially if they've been sleeping around. I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, I'm just stating a fact. I've saved myself for 28 years, and I've been I those circles. And I'm not saying it's her, but there's a played out stereotype of women who give themselves away to everybody then want a good Christian man. 1. If they're not virgins they won't wait. 2. If they're virgin they won't want anyone who isn't.
@sawyersprott Жыл бұрын
There’s a massive difference between someone who chose to lose their virginity, and someone who wanted to preserve it, and had it forcibly taken.

She probably doesn’t want to have a relationship with the people you’ve met then. They sounds pretty judgmental and small minded. I disagree with her choice and I clearly see this. Everyone deserves someone who will respect their values. Otherwise, no dice. Luckily, there’s atleast 1 person for everyone and sometimes more.

@@Mysterious_Moon I'm not saying what she deserve or doesn't deserve . That's up to God or whatever you believe in. I'm not judging whatsoever. The sky is blue' that's the type of statement I made.
