That guy ditching out on his kid is a joke. I spent $500K in lawyers and support payments fighting to be in my daughters life even though her mother had mental disorders and self destructive narcissism. But my daughter was worth every cent. I may never have that sports car I dreamed of, but I have her and her spirit intact. My daughter is better than any other desire I may have had.

I can 100% relate to the teacher. I also teach and I don't feel like I can leave because I feel like I am abandoning them. Many schools, not just public, are struggling with students having serious struggles beyond school/learning. It's hard not to want to help all of them.

Loved your comment about lesson plans. I hated them when I taught English abroad. Lesson plans are a basic outline, but you must be ready to depart from those plans in a heartbeat. That teacher needs to be real with herself. There are limits to what any one person can do. My mom taught in public school for nearly 35 years, and it put her in an early grave. If you feel unsafe and unsupported, LEAVE! Find another school or change careers. No student, no job is worth sacrificing your life and sense of well-being for. That's the stuff of these bull**** feel good "noble" teacher movies. Dr John is right. You are NOT a social worker/mommy/maid/punching bag clown, smiling no matter how hard you get punched.

Can we talk about why she's wanted to protect something that's been toxic to her for so long?
@lesliemontagne6797 Жыл бұрын
We should talk about it! It’s a great question; “why” do we stay in and try to protect what is hurting us to the very core? Dr. Deloney’s show, IMO is about understanding and uncovering the “what’s”, which takes time enough in itself. He does give people insight into what issues in their past or present form current decision-making. And he DOES make clear with many listeners what their unhealthiness looks like, spiritually, physically and emotionally. The “why” we stay in hurt is another whole thesis in itself. This is mostly about fear and insecurity. Fear to learn awareness, fear to assess reality, and fear of action and change. The “why” is as simple and as complicated as culture, family history, family dynamics, what makes us feel safe (healthy or not), and a whole lot more that Dr. Deloney could name off better than me. It would be a long discussion! For people seeking the “why”, I recommend reading “Embracing Fear” by Thom Rutledge. It needed better editing - IMO, but helped me end my destructive life path of a horrendous childhood, addiction, and marriage trauma, as did “Letting Go of Your Ex” by Courtney Warren, PhD. After facing my fear I walked both feet out of that door at age 63. Complex and frightening, yes. The “why” is no simple answer. Best to you all….

This guy sounds like a huge narcissist. Not taking accountability, lacks empathy, emotionally immature, poor communication. He wants to maintain his image so he blames his partner for why he’s making the bad choices he is. Can’t stay faithful but demands blind loyalty from her. Time for her to move on with her life, she deserves better than him. @imnotanalky2 жыл бұрын
Many couples invest years of effort and experience to build a family. Most people won’t walk away without doing anything they can to save it. Some will try and reconcile to avoid hurting their kids. Some couples do a lot of work and the marriage can end up better than before infidelity.
