I can so relate to the first caller!! My ex had me thinking I was so crazy with his gaslighting and lying!!! Along with the triangulation with his mother and myself, nearly sent me over the edge. They had me believing I was less than a human and no worthy of even our kid's love!! I have so glad for a friend who was wise enough seeing this happen and sit me down and make me aware of it and that it is was not ME!

Wow, I could have benefited from Leeann’s call when I was married to a man who lied. My ex did have affairs. He lied to cover up or denied every thing I and my daughters (he was the step father) ever asked him about, even when the evidence was right there, from the simplest to the most complicated things. I stayed way too long. We finally separated about 6 years ago after 17 years of marriage, and I proceeded to clean up all the crap that he did, lied about, and left behind. It cost me a lot of money, but I’m free, and I never have to question my own sanity again. I hope she gets out. There is no fixing this.

Living in an atmosphere of constant gaslighting, it’s amazing just how prolific it is. Speaking personally, it took me years to realize just how much of it there was. It also took me getting out of my decades long marriage before I fully understood everything. Distance and safety allowed me to see clearly for probably the first time in my entire life. I remember being so confused and feeling like I was going crazy, while my ex was burning the gaslights bright. For others in that living nightmare, get out. Formulate your plan and follow through. Decide that you are worthy of love, safety, being heard and having peace. You’re NOT crazy, but you will become unstable the longer you force yourself to exist in the alternative reality. If you don’t want to lose yourself forever, get OUT. I’m proof that life can get much better. You can too!

Sadly part of Schizophrenia is the extreme paranoia. Even thinking that your medication & treatment team is out to get you or trying to kill you. Very sad situation. He’s either in complete denial that he’s sick & refuses to accept it, or he’s so paranoid, his hallucinations & delusions won’t allow him to get treated.
@georgieeve20262 жыл бұрын
Part of schizophrenia disorder is difficulty with medication compliance. This is due to the unwanted side effects of the medications themselves, and also because of the disorder itself. So it needs to be understood that going off the medication is rarely because of a lack of care and consideration to their loved ones. Consistent therapy and a solid support network (which would include people with lived experience of schizophrenia) can help to improve medication compliance and quality of life. Additionally, it would be worth considering getting long acting antipsychotic medication via injection. These injections can be administered once every 3 months. Some people get them monthly, fortnightly, every 6 weeks, 8 weeks etc. It will depend on the psychiatrist and the needs of the patient. Some people also take daily tablets, or PRN tablets in between/on top of the injections as well. But the injections will provide better coverage and are helpful in cases of medication resistance, non-compliance, and in cases of severe psychosis symptoms.
@CC123982 жыл бұрын
I have no experience with this, but I have heard you can get a court order for injections. Maybe that would help

My guess is - she shares her money. But that doesn’t likely go both ways. 3 years?!?! And the excuse is “medication”? Most men might want to change medication at that point, right? Isn’t sex like the glue that hold marriages together - for men? This guy is not the kind of guy you want to raise kids with. College tricks to save money by sneaking into sports games - might impress the other immature peers with fun and adventure… probably not meant with malice, but… You need a man of integrity. Somebody who values honesty and not just other people’s.

I’m surprised Dr John didn’t point out that the man may not want to have sex with her because she’s become his mom. If he isn’t getting more info from these callers behind the scenes beforehand, then he certainly seems to assume a lot. When a man calls he needs to love his wife more because she’s clearly hurting if she’s not her best. A woman calls and it’s immediately he’s a child, is he cheating and the woman needs to think about leaving.
