An amazing victory for the people of Russia. Say what you will about the Soviets but the country was massively improved by their leadership. Russia went from a near feudal state under the Czar in the 1910s to pioneering space travel 40 years later despite two world wars, a revolution, and a civil war. The quality of life for the people went from one of the worst, to one of the best in Europe despite so many hardships.

I guess your comment is hope for the future of freedom of speech and more importantly the future of democracy. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone, however everyone in a democracy needs to at least respect and see where their opponents are coming from. This way, everyone (in an ideal world) can express their opinion without fear and discuss their views, even if they disagree, they can at least agree to disagree and maintain that respect. As soon as violence comes into play, that's when the respect starts to be eroded. I respect, but not necessarily agree with those who identify as Conservative, I can see where they're coming from

Decent video but many of the minor details are very wrong. For example the Bolsheviks wanted a fight they wanted bloodshed in order to destroy their opponents it was just that there was barely any resistance in the October revolution. Another one was the fact that they released their plans which wasn't cause they wanted more people to show up that goes against completely what they are for since they are meant to be a small special group like how Lenin liked it. Instead it was a couple of people who didn't think October was the right time to start the revolution and Kernesky actually discovered of the plan because of it

@FilthyTrot2 жыл бұрын
@@NorthernNorthdude91749 'Give me one example of communism where people weren't oppressed'. Give me one example of capitalism where people weren't oppressed. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a perfect society devoid of oppression in world history. Never did I claim that communist states didn't have oppression. However, it would be extremely narrow-minded to just associate capitalism with freedom and socialism with oppression. If freedom were a mark of capitalism, one would think that the US, a capitalist country, wouldn't gave the world's highest prison population. Saudi Arabia is capitalist, yet it's quite a tyrannical regime which dismembers journalists, subjugates women, and has LGBT folks decapitated. I'm not saying communist states haven't been oppressive, but it would be pretty narrow-minded to overlook their pros. Cuba is a bastion for life expectancy, literacy and low infant mortality among other things, and this in spite of severely crippling US sanctions against the country. I could also point out the fact that communist countries like Cuba and Vietnam responded terrifically well to the coronavirus compared to most capitalist countries. Even with its far greater wealth and resources and time to prepare, the US had more per capita deaths than Vietnam. It really says a lot when Cuba and Vietnam are capable of guaranteeing quality medicine to all their citizens, when the world's most powerful country can't, just so pharamaceutical companies can get richer and richer. The coronavirus pandemic is one the things that clearly revealed the weaknesses of capitalism, from my perspective.
