He is awesome live. Check out some of his concerts on KZbin, especially Haymate - a fundraiser he organised a couple of years ago to buy hay for farmers affected by the drought. He is 70 in this concert and rocks out Queen and AC/DC life the young ones who originally recorded them. His stamina and voice were phenomenal. Long live Farnese 🥰🥰🥰🥰

One of the best uses of pipes in a non pipes song ever made. Doesn't try and make the pipes fit pop music. Just lets them play trills and all. And this is coming from someone who spent 12 years in a Highland regiment. Respect.
@59771006 Жыл бұрын
@@WHY7772 The original demo didn't have bagpipes, but Farnham thought they could be a good fit. Like most Australians, he's a big AC/DC fan and loves their song "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll)," a rare rock song with bagpipes that inspired him to use the instruments on "You're The Voice."

To that person who says he doesnt sound as good a younger self i have to point out that with age the voice is very hard to maintain ..Only few can do it ..One example is Bryan Adams amongst others and one here is John ..The fact that at his age he is belting this song like he is amazing because it is way more difficult at an older age. Plus personally i think his technique and voice with all the experience sounds even more better. This man is definitely a legend...John is the Voice !

The time and age in his voice is apparent. Decades of giving his all onstage have robbed him of some the resonance of years past and he doesn't hold the big notes for quite as long, but these changes merely add poignancy to his delivery, and when he does reach for those higher registers, he hits them clean and true. A privilege then to see him still up there after a lifetime of singing his heart out, inspiring us with what has become an anthem for so many. A treasure.

John Farnham is an absolute powerhouse and master at his game I will admit at the start of this I thought he was a little flat (in the first verse) but at the end of the first verse he gives a gesture to someone side of stage that only true musicians know- he couldn’t hear himself in the in ear monitors and the gesture he did pointing upwards was him telling someone off stage to ‘turn it up’- once they did he knocked that song out of the ball park 10000%!
@aries8982 жыл бұрын
Actually re watching it he tugs at his ear and makes the gesture multiple times in different variations at the start till someone notices 🤣
