What is most funny this card is still one of the best options for gaming as a good price. Even as being "for creators" it has amazing performance and temperatures in games. Pairs beautifully with my Asus ProArt B660-Creator D4 motherboard! I bought this card back in August to replace an older GTX-1070 FTW2, which I transferred from my previous system. I mostly use it for 4K editing, VFX, and 3D animation rendering in Blender. Granted, I’ve not compared it to previous RTX generations, but WOW...the enormous difference it’s made can’t be understated. Render times are cut down to a tiny fraction of what they were, total power consumption is lower overall, and less strain on the CPU meant lower temps for me. The card itself remains relatively cool under 100% load, rarely spiking above 75°C; though it did hit just above 80°C during the most demanding animated scene I’ve rendered so far. That’s still surprising, given it’s size. But if that sounds hot to you, bear in mind it runs much cooler in games. Long render times in Blender present some of the most intensive work for graphics cards, and will stress them to their limits. Also, it’s ideal for smaller cases. Just what I needed to fit inside a Phanteks tower with 5.25” bays. In conclusion: graphics cards are still too expensive right now, IMO. But if you require an upgrade to speed up your productivity, this one is a beast! It’s sleek & professional looking to boot.

I was able to hit +140 core clock and +3100 memory clock for the card and actually hit the #1 spot on User Benchmark!!! @filipwassen794710 ай бұрын
For me, the lack of an extra HDMI port isnt an issue at all. Most monitors use DisplayPort nowadays anyway, and as this is a content creation / work station card, youre going to want the benefits of the features that DP carries anyways, like the much wider HDR support and so on. And if you have an HDMI monitor, there are really cheap DP to HDMI cables that work great.

Hey man this is the first video i do watch from your channel, i liked the part with the data analysis, it was the most polite way i've seen to justify being an internet begger. now jokes aside, i do appreciate your time effort and wasted funds, in order to test hardware for us. For time being i did realise there are no such videos on youtube about eagle rev.2 or windforce aswell, and if any they are very limited on information. these cards are significant smaller and there are a lot of people that do like or prefer small cards. Personally i wanted a 4070ti that is not a behemoth, and can be extremely quiet aswell. my tower is next to my head and i can hear almost everything. For the last 6 months i do use xfx 7900 xt(ultra) which is absolutely massive in length. the card is fine, the perfomance is great, but my thermals between gpu and hotspot these days are not ideal. my delta is about 20-30 degrees and more specifically while being undervolted at 1075mA from adrenaline automatic tuning, the tempratures are not ideal.Not dangerous, but seeing difference in perfomance in about 6 months concerns me a bit. the first months card was running around 55-57 degrees with stock settings and nowdays its like 58-64 with hotspot from 80-91 under load. i repeat i am perfectly aware there is nothing dangerous here, but i am concerned about how it will perform at the future, and i am not the type of guy to open my card and apply thermal paste. I would not dare touch something that expensive, and it is not my job to begin with. Also fans past 40% become quite noisy for my taste, especially after a certain mount of time. It is being said that this version is one of the better out there, in terms of perfomance, thermals and acoustics, but my sample has issues to each category. As for perfomance for example, i am having several gliches here and there, either with msi afterburner and some application running, or random crashes on applications. Yes i know, it can be something else... i changed almost everything from psu to ram and even cpu. my discs are not faulty either. as for accoustics if thermals get past a point, or if there is heavy load , the card is ready to break the sound barrier. if each 6 monhts i get +10degrees this wont end well i believe eventually. also regardless the issue everytime the system crashes, i have to apply my settings all over again, which is disturbing atleast. i also did try ddu several times through the months just in case is a driver issue, but i found no improval apart from one update where idle wattage draw reduced significant(mine was from hdr) Every card i did own before was from nvidia and i had no issues whatsoever,no crashes related to gpu, never. i even had a two fan 3070 zotac twin edge, which while having relatively high temps, they were always stable no matter what, and the card was very silent, apart from when they were starting spinning or stopped spinning(which i did like for some reason, it reminded me a car in way) i am honestly considering going back to nvidia, but since 4080 is out my league, 4070 ti is my only choice to justify the change,however i do worry a lot about the vram issue that may occur. I dont like to upgrade my system often and thats why i picked that card. Maybe i am exagerating but i dont like crushes glitches, and sudden thermal differences, espeically when i did nothing to the card apart from the factory UV which would help it technically. anyway my point was to mention that models that are missing from youtube and kindly ask you, or your audience, which 4070ti is a reliable choice when it comes to accoustics,overall quality and reasonable size.
@JohnLCharette Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your detailed comment about your situation. I have also heard other people speak of issues with their AMD GPUs. I have been team NVIDIA for years now and their drivers/software are what keep me on their platform. AMD can be faster, but I don't need raw performance. I appreciate your comment about the data I've captured in my spreadsheet. I haven't decided if I will offer it for sale, but I figured I'd ask my audience. Lastly, I will look into other smaller card options in the 4070 Ti range that I can review for you. I would love to do an ITX build and that might be the perfect reason to find a smaller card. Thanks for watching!

Neither card makes a direct difference with either software. It’s the NVIDIA Studio drivers that will help the most. That being said, the ProArt cards come with a few months of free Adobe suite, but I’m guessing you already have it. If you haven’t overclocking, I recommend the ProArt. It’s cheaper and will perform very well out of the box. If you want a card to tweak and OC, get the Strix.

@MrD300029 күн бұрын
@yeah, man. It’s time. That card has been good to me and it’s been in two different builds but I’ve been running into its limits for a while now. Working in Lightroom with those high resolution photos is painful and annoying, especially considering I make a decent chunk of my income that way. This may be interesting for other photo/video editors: the main reason I’m going for the TI version is the dual NVEC encoders. Great thing to have for video editing and rendering, as this card will be twice as powerful as the non TI version for that. The only thing I’m a little worried about is my PSU. It’s 650W. My CPU is an i7-8700. That one is also getting a bit old but it isn’t the current bottleneck for what I do. I have 48GB DDR4 RAM across 4 banks (started with 16GB and added 32GB later) and I have two HDDs and 4 SSDs. I’m debating whether I save the PSU upgrade for when I’m upgrading my motherboard & CPU in a couple of years or do it now.
@JohnLCharette28 күн бұрын
Yeah, your power supply is a little small. Consider that a 4070 Ti can pull about 225w at max load. Then add your CPU is another 100-150w. A couple HDD and SSDs may add 100-150w. Generally, you don't want to push a power supply past 80% of it's total available power. 650 - 20% = 520w. Adding up all of those values, you're close. You'll probably be fine, as you leave that extra 20% for spikes. My next question is does your PSU have 3x8pin PCI-E cables to connect to the 4070 Ti?
@MrD300028 күн бұрын
@ my cpu has a tdp of 65w. It’s the non-k version. But your math lines up with mine. It’s cutting it close. The PSU doesn’t have those connectors I believe, but you have adapters/converters for that, right?

@@JohnLCharette Thanks for reply man. Those memory temps worries me a bit, but could just be bad connection for the thermal paste. I decided to go with the ProArt over the Tuf because I'm not going to really be using this GPU for gaming. This GPU will mostly be used with Topaz Video AI and Topaz Photo AI software. The good news also is that I can sell my RTX 3080 for around $400 and recoup about half of what I spent on this 4070Ti. I have one question though and maybe you covered it but I missed it. Is the fan shroud on this GPU plastic or metal? The fan shroud and backplate on my ASUS Tuf Gaming 3080 is metal. On another note when i receive this GPU this weekend I am most likely going to do a repaste and replace the thermal pads right away. My 3080 only hits around 68C max on the GPU die with Hotspot around 72C and memory junction around 74C max. IMO 84C on any part of the GPU is too hot for my liking.

Welcome to the world of 'Adult Legos', as I call it. When it comes to monitors, you usually need to think about your goal. Are you a gamer that needs really fast monitor to match your framerate? In games, you want your refresh rates (60hz or 120hz or higher) to match the frames per second in your game. If not, you'll get tearing, which isn't the end of the world, but if you want the best quality, it matters to some. Next is the monitor resolution. You'll need to test your GPU to see if it can perform that fast. If it can easily do 120fps at 1080p or 1440p, then you can buy yourself a monitor that's 120hz @ 1440p resolution. A lot of gamers use 1080p monitors with higher refresh rates, because it allows their GPU to perform better.. for example, there are 240hz monitors.. so you'd want 240fps in your game. If you aren't a gamer, then usually bigger is better. I'm a content creator and use a 100hz 1440p ultrawide monitor (3440x1440 resolution). The 100hz helps with games, but my GPU is 'just' enough to get 100fps at 1440p ultrawide when I was using a 4070 Ti. Mainly, I use the ultrawide for video editing, but I like to game as well. In the end, it'll depend on what you use your computer for, then we can narrow down the specs you'll want. Then, it's up to you to decide which brand you prefer, which usually comes down to design. Hope this helps!

It'll definitely last you three years and you'll enjoy every game you throw at it up to 1440p resolution. The speed difference between a 4060 Ti and a 4070 Ti is pretty substantial. I always say, get the fastest card you can afford. You'll enjoy the experience that much more and it'll last you longer. The ProArt is directly comparable to the TUF card, from a price point (usually). The difference between the two is that the ProArt is much smaller, a little louder, no RGB and only 1 HDMI port. @JohnLCharette Жыл бұрын
Yes, a few differences. If you watch my ProArt video, I explain the size differences which play a more significant role with creators who want to use multiple GPUs. The ProArt fits a 2.5 slot, which allows for more than one GPU on a motherboard. Other than that, the designs are very different. The ProArt is an all-black design - even the heatsink has been anodized black. The TUF has RGB, but the ProArt doesn't. Performance-wise, they'll be very similar though. Same clock speeds and TGP (total graphics power). Hope that helps! Which one are you leaning towards?
