Showing how you can run 2 midi controllers using an old iPhone 6+...If you are looking to do this with more modern iPhones(without a headphone jack) plug an audio interface into the USB hub and it will send your audio out!

See if you can get a used ipad or ipad mini. Some synth programs need the screen space of the ipad. Also, you can also get a powered USB hub which also has an "audio interface" (headphone jack) built in if you have to use a newer phone with no headphone jack. The interface in the hub avoids electrical noises that are sometimes in the devices when they get busy, as well.

That is amazing! What's really interesting to me is you came up with the thought process to even think of something like this. I'm by no means brain dead, I run two I-pads and an Android tablet on my rig because of what I have to do for my band, but I've never thought how simple and cool this is just for myself. Thx for posting, great job my friend.

I ordered my first midi keyboard yesterday, and it will arrive tomorrow. I am using a Android phone with the CPU speed / core number slightly higher than the iPhone 6. Wish me luck. I took piano lessons for 1 year when I was 5. I am trying to pick up again after decades with all the modern tech unimaginable when I was a boy, and now the KZbin music knowledge.

Hi, can I do this with the more recent iphones? I am having difficulty with amplifying the sound following the connection of a midi usb dongle. It generates sound on the iPhone XR max, but if I put the charger/audio splitter it no longer controls the iPhone. I seem to be able to get just one out per time. This is because those new phones don’t come with a 3.5mm point. Kindly help.

You have no power running on the keys? Is it just plugged directly to the usb? I saw videos about set up that you will need a powered usb port. I’m glad it runs just as simple as it is.

Are you running electricity to any of this? The speakers? The keyboards? etc.?

Hey! Big fan here. But I have a quick question. Have you ran into a product that will allow you to charge your phone while using the camera connection kit? Needless to say, sometimes forget to charge my iPad the day before a service, or I get last-minute calls for gigs... it would be nice if something like that existed. Thanks!
