Just when I thought I had reviewed all of the Bluetooth Midi devices on the market this one pops up! This is a great solution for those that have regular USB midi keyboards with no 5-pin midi sockets and it's only $49! Half the price of the Puc+! Get It Here: amzn.to/2TcE5Gs

How do you get your piano to connect with the power off/power on button? I have the Nektar se49 and the gx61 and cannot get either to work. It says connected but then theirs no sound and the ud-bt01 auto shut down soon after. My akai 25 keys works though (no off/on button)... By the way I'm using garageband.

@@Johnmike John, your videos are great. And I like this adapter very much. Better than the Puc+. I want to transmit from my iPad to a Midi device. So if you played on the iPad keyboard in your video it would transmit to the M-Audio Keyboard? The device I want to transmit too is older and only has a 5 pin input. Do you know of an cable adapter that would come out of the USB and go into midi 5 pin? Thanks in advance.

You can also buy a usb c to usb port with 3 or 4 ports and in one of the port put a usb to 3.5mm for audio & and put midi controller in another port. It’s pretty inexpensive. Cheaper than the Bluetooth midi and gets the same thing done. When I don’t want to power up iConnectaudio4+, I use this setup with headphones going into the usb to 3.5mm

I have this for a while, and I am still looking a good reason to keep it. As is shown in your video there is no latency or a very low one, but then you will have to connect your IPad with external speakers..and that is a whole different matter, specially since Ipad no longer has 3.5 physical connection. Going true Bluetooth is not the best experience, so I ended up with lot of connectors, and chargers to have a decent setup for a MIDI keyboard with good sound. And if you try to use this with your Yamaha, once again the connection is flawlessly with Ipad, but the capacity to use VST is gone. It seems there is no way to get rid of the Ipad volume while using a VST like Ravencroft or Korg which is really annoying. Once again new connections would be needed, but the whole purpose of going cableless is defeated.

Does the transmitter charge up or does it have to be connected to the wall all the time? If it does have to be connected to the wall all the time, then it rather seems to defeat the point - the point being to be wireless. Your keyboard is now tethered to the wall instead of your iPad - big deal! ...... or am I missing something here? Thanks for the video which got much better when you started playing!
@Johnmike5 жыл бұрын
Has to be plugged up all the time..and yea but it depends on how you look at it...no matter what the keyboard has to be powered some way some how unless the keyboard is battery powered...but for me...I’m not doing it so the keyboard can be untethered...but because the iPad doesn’t have a headphone jack so I needed a way to transmit midi data wirelessly

Thank you so much for this video!! I’ve been looking for the best solution to get my newer M audio oxygen (no standard midi output) to give both midi signal and audio out for WEEKS And I finally stumbled upon this !!!! Saw all your videos with usb hubs and all, but this looks like the cleanest way for me. Just one question please. ... by connecting this Bluetooth adapter to the m audio, it is powering the m audio right? (Because my m audio doesn’t have a DC power supply function) ..(and I can’t tell if you have power running to your m audio in this video).. thanks again!!! If that’s the case, I will finally be able to just send the audio out through the usb-c port on my iPhone!

I am not bright. Please forgive me. Can someone please tell me why this is better then going straight from the keyboard to a tablet? Is it because the tablet lacks a usb port? Does it save the tablet's battery? Does it improve latentcy over a miniusb direct to tablet? Or is it just go wireless? Please anyone answer but be kind I really don't understand.
@Johnmike4 жыл бұрын
It’s actually for any of those cases you just mentioned...maybe your computer doesn’t have enough USB ports because you are using them all...maybe your keyboard is drawing too much power from the tablet...but the main reason I got it was because my new iPad came without a headphone jack...so I needed to plug an audio interface to my iPad to get sound from it which of course took up the only USB port that was on the device...so I needed a solution for sending midi to my iPad wirelessly
@newjack21664 жыл бұрын
@@Johnmike thank you for responding. Could a viable solution for audio out on the ipad be the built-in bluetooth of the IPad. And which device are you referring to that gave the Ipad audio out? And 100 more questions. Your answers seem really clear. Thanks. I have a bunch of questions about basic synthisizer stuuff too. Software and hardware.

So - I buy a $6500 piano that says it can "connect and record straight to your phone via bluetooth!" ....only to find out in order to use this feature, you need to purchase a separate $60 adapter. So I buy that. ...........only to find out the goddamn $60 adapter DOESN'T COME WITH A POWER SUPPLY, so I have to spend another $10 to turn this thing on. What the hell, Yamaha!??!?

Yep, this. Not quite a $6500 piano, but I bought a Yamaha P-125 thinking I could use this, but having to power it as well as wiring it into the piano, kinda means it's a bit pointless for me. Thanks for the video though John, I was wondering how this thing worked, now I do 👍

If you want to be completely wireless, you can use a phone power bank instead of plugging it into the wall. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/o56mZWSDmrOWY7M for an example.
