I bought one to use in my POD HD500x effect loop. I now have access to these great amps in my POD. I think I'll buy another one to place in front of it, for a OD pedal. They are so small, I can mount them left and right of my screen, using hook and latch tape. I've placed a noise gate and boost in front of the loop, and a chorus, two delays, reverb and volume pedal, behind it. Sounds great. Gain staging is a little difficult. No need to go out and buy a Helix!

I had tried the ToneX software on my computer and i find the amp models more dynamic and enjoyable to play then on POD Go. So my idea was to just use Tonex for amp in my POD GO loop and effects from POD go. Obviously turn off map modeling from POD Go. Thoughts? Perhaps a video on this experiment would be valuable to some of us. Thank you.

That's what I'm going to do with the one's big brother. I've tried it in my room and sounded good. There's a few things I need to check out (hopefully this weekend). 1 is to jailbreak my GO (as I'm lazy and want the GO to cover all my modulation, delay etc needs in 1 preset (without using the bank up and down ). The other thing is to hook up an old Boss pedal between the out of the ToneX pedal and the return of the GO. Reason being I believe that the GO return is instrument vs output of ToneX being line. I'm not an electronics expert, so just going by what I've read for both products. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. As I said, it did work without me jailbreaking the GO (I just bypassed the amp and speaker on the GO) , and without me using the Boss pedal as a reamp box. I only ran the out of the GO to my laney FRFR. Once I do the other changes, I'll take it to a gig. If the GO crashes or plays up..ill just go thru the ToneX to get thru the gig. Thats the plan anyway ...oh my GO is out of warranty now, so, I'll take the hit on it, if it crashes and doesn't recover 😊

TONEX ONE is nice! Guitar processors can make a big difference in sound depending on the CAB IR you use. actually there are many IR products on the market, but I think DYNAX IR has the best sound. As stated in their product description, DYNAX IR is really fast. When using IRs, the pick attack is sometimes delayed, and it is difficult to add picking nuances, but their IR prevents all of that. Specially for the conventional pedal platform people it will be great!! Unfortunately I have moved “away” from the traditional pedal platform and use their plugins extensively in their Amplitube software. I will soon release a video of my live setup using Amplitube with three different Amps in one preset and switching between them seamlessly - Bogner clean, Marshall overdriven and then Hi-gain Soldano (obviously you can select whatever amp combinations) for an ultimate live setup! Each one having their own sets of pedals in front and then also in their fx loop and then rack/pedal fx in the master bus!! All I use is a midi foot controller with 8 x buttons and two expression pedals (digital) ..can do almost any rig live with this setup !!

@tiomkinnyborg22899 ай бұрын
@@johnmessenger5395 The Tonex has a shitty screen from 1980. I would not buy it. Put a screen from this century on it and maybe. Let me make it clearer. A pen is the size it is because it works. I could make it smaller with exactly the same properties as a normal sized one but, it would be difficult to hold and use. It would be a step in the wrong direction. A pedal that is that small will damage my cables or I would have to make it bigger by bolting it to a board. That defeats the object. Pedals have been pedal sized for ages for a reason. Using 'logical' presses and holds to get to areas is fun until you forget how to get to a menu. The novelty will wear out fast when you cannot do something simple. China will run with this idea and put it in a proper sized case with a screen. I'll buy that one as it will be easier to use. I play a full sized guitar. I could buy a smaller one but that would be stupid, same with this. Watch out for the non shill reviews where they point out that the thing is too small and the gymnastics to alter stuff is a step too far. I'm not saying it is bad. It sounds great and punches well above its weight. But every time something new arrives we get the chorus of voices shouting 'take my money'. I bet 80% of them will ask for their money back when the experience the thing in the real world.
