Just got one of these in January Sales. One of the first things I did was a capture of my stage amp so I can leave that at home for rehearsals. I love how it responds to my pedalboard pretty closely to the real thing. I upgraded to the middle price software and have had fun trying out a few other captures. As a teacher, I record my own syllabus and I will be happy using Tonex instead of disturbing the neighbours. It is not perfect but damn good and could still get better with updates. Now if I could just get a capture of an HH IC100, I could re-live my 80s College years!

I'm quite happy they put this out. Because, it's affordable I've got amps for my three most used tones: Fender-style Clean, Marshall JTM & Vox AC30. But, there's a someamps tones I'd like to be able to access, but can't afford the amps, or space. And two of those are even included here as presets: Dumble & Rockerverb or Matamp. I'd like to sometimes use a Marshall JCM800 & Plexi tone too, so this can do that for me too. And I think it's especially good having loud/higher-gain amps in model form, because I couldn't crank them that hard at home. And looking to add some small character amp, like Tweed Deluxe, Vox AC4, Vibro-champ. They'll sell loads of these I reckon, especially if prices drop a little by Christmas :)

As Tonex provides static captures, I'm wondering if an amp or amp+overdrive or just overdrive capture at a certain gain level (such as an edge- of- break up tone) can still be adjusted on the pedal to optimize for single coil vs humbucker. I like pedals (vs. modelers) because I can easily adjust on the fly. I was thinking of getting the Tonex One strictly for overdrive captures and have versatility to switch to a klon, bluesbreaker, KOT, etc for different tones and gain stages. Decisions, decisions.....

I’ve e ordered one. I use the ToneX software already and it’ll be great to have some of the sounds on my board. I also like that you load pedals on it and use it as an extra drive pedal. The user interface looks really easy to grasp too. Just waiting to see how long I’ll have to wait for stock to come in. I can see my board going down to just the BossBD-2, HX Stomp and the ToneX One.. For the price I think it looks a no brained.

Hopefully they offer them in a stand alone price point without the software. Buy the first one with the software and then hopefully you can buy a second, third, forth etc at a lower price point. Then you have a ton of flexibility, amp / cab in one or boost, delay on another, reverb on another and any other effect on others. Then combine with the IR-2 and you have a very high level modeling system. The IR-2 is and will more than likely be the heart of my rig. In 35 years of playing guitar, the IR-2 for me is the single best piece of gear Ive ever bought.
