JCVD didn't like how Johnny Cage had the reputation similar to his, and... Johnny Cage was actually what JCVD was claiming to be at the time, put lots of juice into claiming to be that. I won't go into it. JCVD had to go and earn what he claimed he already had because a fighting game character similar to him put the spotlight on what part of his Hollywood image was total BS. JCVD being upset was totally rational, just like any guy with a tiny penis, claiming it's huge finding out pictures of his tiny weenie are being publicly circulated.

You made this video in an awesome way, like a greatly told joke... leaving the end words being the punchline... only it wasn't done as comedy. Your ending summary came full circle as to who and what Johnny Cage originally was since the original Mortal Kombat game. He was always an entertainer AND a master martial artist who used his martial arts in his performances. He hated people saying he was not quite the bad^ss martial artist he actually was because... nevermind... that's a 5-page essay that involves the JCVD 90s uber-popular guy at the time that I don't want to even touch right now. Let's say there is both reason for the flame and justification later against it over time, and drop it as it is unfair to the Johnny Cage character. Steven (Stephen?) Segal (Aikido master and also action hero star) was brutally honest about it at the time... and crappy actor who was beloved because he was always able to play his bad^ss self in the movies he starred in. Johnny Cage was exactly what the actor he was based upon claimed to be... a character that can only exist in fiction outside of Bruce Lee, BTW... a guy who was an actual martial artist and free thinker first before wanting any kind of media fame. That's probably why MK made their Bruce Lee guy superior at first. The MK series did do a lot of metal gymnastics to create great stories for the game since the OG MK game. Making Raiden a good guy was them really sh^tting the bed. They should have instead had Thor (Norse guy) replace Raiden (evil storm guy) after OG MK... or maybe Zeus or some son of Zeus with his Lightening Bolt. I mean, the OG MK game's story was that the only character to survive was with which the game player won the game. Each character had an epilogue at the end of the game. Starting at MK2, that whole thing was discarded, and OG canon killing of all previous fighters was thrown out the window to make everyone in the game returning characters... so no OG character in a fight-to-the-death games actually dies... or if they do, stay dead. I guess that instead of the developers picking the character that they won previous game(s) with to enter the new games as if that character was the sole survivor (as OG game mechanics intended), they just scripted all the games to have every character, killed or not, live on to the next game. Oh, and also go completely CGI animation instead of one of the most beloved things about the OG game... having actual human models pose for the digital pics for the playable characters. Johnny Cage is a great character. He was awesome as an OG MK character. If you beat the original game with Johnny Cage, he just has a Hollywood actor wake-up and a great Hollywood success... and in the down-low, he is part of the reason Outworld lost its leverage on Earth for at least the next 10 Mortal Kombats. It's far more wholesome than Raiden's win... and proof that MK2 was the first middle-finger to the original game's story as well as Japan's mythology involving that same storm god.

@@ronaldedge3317 Yep. The splits is a requirement. As a teen, it took me weeks of physical training to be great at that... AS A TEEN. Chris Pratt is a grown man. If he can't do the splits now, he'd probably need years of moderate training or months of intensive training to get to that.

Agreed, but Ryan R. would be a better one. He's a truly physical person who also has acting ability, great acting ability, with the same type of humor who can easily play (for funsies) an egotistical fighter because of his Deadpool fandom. I mean, Ryan can play Johnny Cage as a parody for fun and totally be dead-solid-perfect in being Johnny Cage. I can picture him making people laugh at parties by playing Johnny Cage in improv situations.

Johnny cage was always my favorite character growing but lui Kang character more serious personality made me respect Lui more but I hated in mk annihilation they killed his character off pointlessly at that vs the game I think johnny fell in line more like he should basically 2nd to Lui Kang but could easily be 1st & was 1st after lui Kang was a revenant & johnny beat Shinnok.... @@lycangoon5286 Hanzo was old due to plot and the plot did not work at all. Scott Adkins fit Shao Kahn more. He may not be big, but he’s a huge martial artist that I believe is better at playing as villains. You need someone as intimidating and badass as him to play Shao Kahn. my picks is Glen Powell, but if they’re looking for someone with martial arts, Alain Moussi who’s only early 40s.
