Being such a great storyteller, whether they be serious or humorous, was definitely one of Johnny's talents that come through in many of his songs, both covers, self-composed and original releases of songs written by others.

My dad used to work the midnight shift when this song came out. I was about 12 years old at the time. On his way home from from work one day he heard this song on the radio. He knew I would love this song, so he stopped by the record store at bought me the 45 rpm.

A man who owned a junk car yard made a Cadillac just like the one in the song for Johnny Cash and if you watch the video for this song you will see it. Great reaction and my favorite Johnny Cash song

This vehicle was actually built after the song came out in tribute to Johnny. It was kept at The House of Cash, The Johnny Cash Museum. Not sure where it is today, but I'd bet you got a subscriber that knows.

Sean, check out 5 ft high and rising. It's an autobiographical song mostly that Chronicles a childhood flood that he experienced and every verse the water rises one foot higher and then the keys go up one keychange.

Sorry, autocorrect always changes it to that I do not know why.

This style of humorous song is sometimes called Talking Blues. Laid back, shaggy dog story of a song. Quite a few artists with folk/ country backgrounds did them. Bob Dylan did one called Talking world war three blues. I think you might like to check it out. Other Cash hits, include Jackson, Walk the line, and Ring of fire.

Great song and great reaction! One of my favorite Johnny Cash songs since I was a kid. I would suggest "Johnny Cash - Man in Black (The Best Of The Johnny Cash TV Show)."

I love this song. Love JC too. Someone below mentioned, "I've Been Everywhere", as a request and I'll def second that one. You may have heard a remake done for a tv commercial for a motel or hotel chain. You wanna talk about breath control - GEEZ! IDK how Johnny did it. Thanks Shawn!

Most Cash songs are more serious. Some classics include: The Man in Black, Rusty Cage, Get Rhythm and the iconic Hurt.

With "Hurt" it's absolutely essential you watch the video.

You’d think an assembly line guy would have gotten wise to the fact the parts were changing over the years, quite a while before the moment of truth, but hey, it’s a funny song. 😄
