Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

The Diamonds are a Canadian vocal quartet that rose to prominence in the 50's-60's. "Little Darlin'" is their biggest hit from 1957. But they had other songs such as "Why Do Fools Fall In Love", "The Church Bells May Ring", "Where Mary Go", "Silhouettes", "The Stroll" etc. It was quite common for a lot of these groups to perform the songs of other artists of the time.

The name Maurice Williams sounds familiar to you because he also wrote, and had a big hit with, the song "Stay" -- later covered by Jackson Browne.

Shawn this great tune you're playing is why I don’t need to go to other channels, your selections of music are outstanding. I’ll never get tired of your channel, well maybe if you start playing Western music I’ll consider turning the volume off. But that’s not likely to happen right? As always thank you for your hard work and efforts to entertain all of us.

What I heard about this song (and videos of the group support this) is that it was originally intended to be a parody of rock & roll songs of the 50's. They were making fun of the sound of the era and then suddenly had a huge hit on their hands. If you catch their video of the song, it is performed tongue in cheek, camping it up.

One of my favorite “Doo Wop” songs from that era. Very innocent, upbeat and positive lyrics, and it makes you feel good. It used to be 95% of all songs were like this.

It's so fun. There are so many fun songs from back then, that is the music of my parents generation when they were young. But I became familiar with it when I was young and grew to actually really love it by maybe high school-aged or college. But some of it I liked since I was a little kid. Sh-Boom Sh-Boom by the Crew Cuts is a lot of fun.

The video has several stills from the 1973 movie classic "American Graffiti" of which this song was part of the soundtrack.

The video includes clips from "American Graffiti", which was set in 1962 and revolved around characters graduating from high school. The cast included Ron Howard ("Happy Days"), Cindy Williams ("Laverne and Shirley"), Harrison Ford ("Star Wars"), Mackenzie Phillips ("One Day at a Time") and Suzanne Somers ("Three's Company"), all unknowns at the time. The film's soundtrack featured pop, doowop and rock songs from the late 1950s and early 1960s, which were the central character's junior high and high school years that they were about to put behind them. The film and soundtrack set off a wave of nostalgia for the early years of rock and roll even though it was at the time less than 20 years old and many of its pioneers, including Elvis, were still under 40. Thanks for the flashback, Shawn!

First time learning of these songs were presented to 70's teens and old time music fans via radio top hits shows. It was common for songs to be funny or whimsical on the radio at the time. It was harder to get a recording so I am sure that once one did get a chance, everything was thrown into production. (There was more music education in school in early days I believe.) I recall at one one band formed at my high school and performed on talent show night. Suggested funny songs: "Alley Oop" (The Hollywood Argyles) learn about a comic strip "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh" (Allan Sherman) - worst summer camp ever to the melody of "Dance of the Hours". (This is a good time of the year to react to this one as some kids go to camp this summer.) Raining - check; Getting Sick - check "Don't Leave Your Records in the Sun" (John Hartford/Mark Twang) - Take care of your vinyl records.

Robin Luke was a Hawaiian teen singer who had a big hit in the late '50's with "Susie Darlin'", although I actually like the "B" side, "Livin's Loving You" even better. Great to hear some old vinyl sides from back in the day!

Little Darling was covered by The Diamonds because back then black artists were not allowed on the airways, so this rendition was accepted because they were white, I know, because I lived during this era, it was racists' in the 50s & 60s. I'm 82 yrs old & I remember living in So Cal in the 50,s listening to WolfMan Jack after midnight because that's when it was allowed to listen to black music, Pat Boone was a master at covering black music

Hi Shawn! Thanks for your reaction! Just a suggestion! This song was from the sound track of the movie American Graffiti! Perhaps you could pick one or more songs from that sound track to react to! The movie came out in 1973! Fantastic movie! LOVE your channel! Peace and Blessings to you and yours from Australia.
