SNL was like, how do we make this funny when it's already funny and decided they would go with not funny. Some writer somewhere was like we could have them find the poop, and then the other writer was like yeah, but should we actually make it funny? And the first writer says, not so funny but more of a funny-esque, we're talking about poop so that will work, we'll get that guy Keenan to be the one who comes in and over reacts to it too because he's silly. Funny-esque.

Not only did someone originally pitch the idea for this sketch, thinking it was funny, but then people also had to collectively decide that it was a good idea to make it happen. Some people worked to write it, and then some of them even decided to act it out in front of a live audience, and potentially to millions of others across the world. And they all said "Yes, this is a GOOD idea". That's the minimum of all the layers that sketch had to go through before it got to us.

The fact that amber heard’s lawyer didn’t say “objection hearsay” every 5 seconds proves that they didn’t watch the actual trial Omg this is the most likes I’ve ever gotten on a comment!!! Thank you 😊 (Also to the people saying that JD’s lawyer was also saying objection, the skit has JD giving his testimony not Amber. So it wouldn’t make sense for JD’s own lawyer to say objection to their own question. That was something only Amber’s lawyer did)

In my 48 years, I don't think I've seen the entire country more united on ANYTHING than on who is the abuser in the Depp/Heard case. And yet SNL thought it was a good idea to victim blame Johnny? If you're in comedy and 99% of the country sides with Johnny, who do you feel is going to laugh at this skit? I'm with everyone else...I don't think the writers have even watched the trial. Or they are besties with Amber. Either way.... this didn't go over well.

I couldn't agree more.... I'm not usually so pissed I actually go to a video specifically to dislike and to back up the comments calling bullshit on this, but here I am. In fact I've had a youtube account since the early 2000s and have used it as my primary source of entertainment for almost a decade and this might actually be the FIRST time I've done this. Or if not the first, it's one of so few instances I'm not immediately remembering it. Usually if I don't like something I just don't watch or I give it the benefit of the doubt. I almost never dislike a video because that's still engagement. I know I'm giving engagement on this too which is why at first i wasn't going to come over here.... but It's SUCH bullshit that I feel like it's making someone like me feel like they have to do something so atypical or else it will feel like I'm agreeing with victim blaming and being tone deaf assholes. There's no good excuse for this shit. And mind you, I'm someone with dark humor who laughs at terrible shit and think it's totally fine to do a sketch on the trial since the trial itself has so many ridiculous moments--And let's be real, TikTok is fucking hilarious on this topic lol But despite a plethora of great material that was already darkly funny on its own, that could have made really poignant commentary on the absurdity of society that it had to come to this trial in the first place despite so much evidence on Johnny's side, SNL managed to go the ONE WAY to not only manage to make something darkly hilarious NOT funny, they even made it offensive, victim blaming, and ignorant all at once. I wasn't even going to give them the click but I had to go see what people were saying so I could second anyone pointing out how monumentally stupid on all fronts this is

Yeah. The TikTok voiceovers of people reenacting the dirty carpet scene with the jar of cocaine were funnier than this skit lol. SNL writers tried too hard not to offend Amber's side (had no problem portraying Johnny as a smarmy villain though, strangely) and it completely takes the humor out of it bc this trial is so iconic BECAUSE of how one sided it is and watching a pathological liar (Amber) at work. You can't just ride the "very fine people on both sides haha poop funny" punchline. In doing so, they made a mockery of the real victim, but were too scared to even cast someone to play the abuser.

It is absolutely insane - Amber knows how to pick 'em! That snarky unprofessional "psychologist" too!

Fun fact: the people in the audience cheering are actually paid actors, they're worth more than the cast

They really defending amber heard? Making her legal team look competent.

didn't seem like they were defending amber Heard, seemed like they called her a crazy bitch who cuts off fingers and poops on beds and also that Johnny probably has a history of pissing off crazy bitches. I think they nailed it right in the head, sorry it was too abridged for most, not everyone watches the trial.

Yeah that's the most WTF part here. It comes off as bitter and delusional.
