Johnny Depp expert: 'Highly unlikely' Amber Heard story about finger injury is true

Dr. Richard Gilbert, an orthopedic surgeon hired by Johnny Depp's legal team in his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, testified about the finger injury Depp suffered during a fight between the couple in Australia. Gilbert testified that it's "highly unlikely" that the injury was caused the way Heard claims it was. Gilbert testified the injury is more consistent with the way Depp describes it based on his medical evaluation of the injury.

The injury sounds much more shocking and violent when described by the surgeon. Tip of the finger was fractured into several pieces from a blunt impact. The bottle exploded on impact severing off the end of his finger. She must have thrown it so f:;king hard. No laughing matter.

Johnny Depp stated it was a large glass one with a handle. I have seen and purchased them. They are 1.75 liters which is a half a gallon and some are 3 liters. He said large with a handle so it has to be at least 1/2 a gallon. But it could've been bigger. Yeah it's pretty heavy and it was full of liquor as well.

One of her friends sent her a picture of a knife and tells her not to use it just to show him and she said that she could figure out another way to do it. Which is another reason why she got mad because she wasn’t in the will and they had a huge fight about that as well. Also she projects a lot. And she constantly says that she survived. That she got out of this alive. And that Johnny told her the only way out was dead. Usually what she says Johnny told her and did to her is what she told Johnny and what she did to him. We need to back up and realize that this is a defamation case and not a DV case. Johnny sued her and then she countersued. It is possible that AH might win, if enough proof comes up that Johnny's actions DIRECTLY impacted her ability to get work. But what this case is actually doing as a bi-product is that it's bringing out all the other DV nastiness. If she loses, she COULD face other charges such as perjury, DV, and maybe doctoring evidence (or presenting false evidence). There's a reason she didn't sue him for DV, because she knows she'll lose there, with no evidence.

Yes, she said it was an antique one at first and later changed it to a modern wall phone. Pictures taken soon after don't show any phone and then there's a busted up phone. Now I'm no expert but I have had a fist thrown at me that hit the wall, it left a large indentation/hole. If he was beating the wall with the phone there would be dents and holes as he would have had to be really pounding to cause that type of break. Go back and watch where they were doing that part and look at the pictures. Do you see any damage to the wall? Me neither.

If I remember correctly they had to replace the bar? The bottle could have impacted the finger FROM THE SIDE (as specified), impacting both bar and finger; breaking a chip from the marble & forcing the marble shard up, into & THROUGH his FINGER, as the bottle crushed down on the finger.

I doubt it chipped the marble but Johnny is famous for his love of fine spirits. He’s a guy who spends $500 for wine he drinks REGULARLY, not just on special occasions. The vodka he had wasn’t what we’d pick up at the local ABC package store. Chances are it was a heavy glass bottle and he called it a ‘large jug with a handle’. I’ve seen similar and it’s a small glass ‘loop’ on the bottle neck, not one like on a glass tea pitcher. Think of a small finger loop, that kind of thing. The loops are made of very thick glass in order to bear weight. If the thick loop broke on his finger against a hard solid marble bar then, yeah, he’s lucky it didn’t cut an artery or ricochet and hit his jugular

on Dr Gilbert’s testimony, I do not contradict him bc I am not an expert or a doctor. However, JD did not say AH aimed the vodka bottle at his hand. He said she threw it at his I believe person or head. It hit the wall and shattered and one of the pieces sliced off his finger. She did not intent to slice his finger off. She probably wanted to be dramatic and hit him or scare him. I found it strange that he said he dis 300-400 surgeries a year. As there is 365 days in a year. Normally, specialist will complete actual surgeries 2-5 days a week. My specialist only did 2 surgeries a week. this means he is doing multiple surgeries a day. Wow, that is a lot of work! And that is dealing with a lot of blood.
