She is not analyzing their relationship in any other terms than trying to determine if Amber is a victim of abuse. You do NOT need the other partner to recognize patters of abuse and to form a professional opinion about someone being a victim of abuse. When women seek legal help and shelter and services for being victims of abuse they are not denied until the man is questioned?!!!! Like imagine going to a counselor for abuse and the counselor being like "well ill have to analyze the partner too before I'll believe you". No. This witness is not here to say "I have first hand witness of actual events between amber and Johnny so i know everything about their relationship " she is a witness to testify her OPINION on whether or not she believes thay Amber has faced abuse. She is a witness for the DEFENSE. Johnny declined a mental health evaluation and his team only testified to Amber's evaluation but nobody was claiming at that time that she should have assessed both or asking why she wasn't addressing Johnny's diagnosis

Is silly to come to a conclusion without considering interviewing various angles of the same situation. One of the biggest critiques of the psychological behavioural analysis of little Hans by Sigmund Freud is that he never spoke to the child directly, thus his conclusion is merely based on the knowledge he was allowed access to. Same as this woman. Also she has only ever dealt with DV where the male is only the victim if the perpetrator is also male. Not once can she recall an instance of female on male case, let alone testimony or treatment. Additional to this, her selective use of pronouns in figuritive examples of a general relationship, is her embedded perception of stereotypical dv statistics. Almost a Freudian slip of sorts, whilst making the excuse that she used specific pronouns to lead rooms perception into seeing the male as a perpetrator and female as victim. Not only is she highlighting her bias, she's creating a potential risk of causing bias herself.

@@pheonixuk20 Her conclusion has *nothing* to do with having to consider Johnny. She explained over and over that she compared Heard to patterns of behaviors of other abuse victims and determined that it matches. Again, someone does NOT need to interview a perpetuater to form an OPINION on weather someone is a victim or not. Again this is am OPINION. She is not saying she knows for a fact that Amber is a victim, she's saying she personally and professionally believes it. She also stated she had done with numerous cases of violence against males, but they didn't go to court which is not a decision that she makes. In Little Hans, Freud was forming opinions about the father, asking leading questions about the father, etc. Which is not appropriate. The vast difference in this case, repeated numerous times, is that this witness is simply testifying her professional opinion about whether a person has experienced the trauma of intimate partner abuse. She's testifying to her opinion of what her client has been through. She's not at all focused on Johnny or anything about him

Psychologists are people who need to validate their failing profession, because it's actually for the most part, a useless field that has been drummed up in its importance. What really pisses me off is they seem to have used the couples therapy sessions (that Amber forced for nefarious reasons) to abuse Johnny on behalf of Amber, by taking her side and making him out to be the problem. It seems that since Amber was paying, they were taking her side. If Johnny had took them to the side and wrote a bigger check, I bet they would have flipped the script and came at Amber instead. It feels like one of those cases of blackmail and extortion, but Depp wanted nothing to do with it, so he didn't get the hint and didn't pay them to take his side. I think she's been trying to milk the hell out of this whole situation from start to finish. She comes off as a hack who is more of a yes man for wealthy people. I'd be interested to know if there was ever even one case she took where she didn't diagnose the person how they wanted to be diagnosed. I think her main clientele are people looking for good prescription party drugs and people looking to get leverage over their partners. Judging by her looks, she's had plastic surgery just like the rest of the Hollywood crowd, and is just as plastic and fake as the rest. Barbie psychologist. She comes off as a rich mans housewife who does this job to feel like she's worth something, when she's actually as vile and worthless as the rest of the trash in Hollywood.

Not necessarily. The defence are doing their job to undermine her. She has fully evaluated Amber because she's had access. It doesn't make her a bad psychologist. Johnny's team are being really smart. By refusing her access to him and letting her hear what the public does, she would conclude that Amber was the alleged victim. And puts her in an even worse light. Depp's team had to interview Dr. Curry because she was an unknown. I imagine they also chose a woman to reduce factual or perceived bias that a male expert would impart towards a female subject. But the fact that this doctor didn't have to interview and was trusted demonstrates a previous mutual relationship. Masterfully putting the doubt into the jury's mind that Amber's team was trying to do to Dr. Curry.

why does that make you laugh? it just shows that depp's lawyers are scummy enough to stoop to using an identical strategy to the strategy they previously shot down.. you were probably on the other video cheering about how Amber's team had no right to pursue such a stupid line of questioning. Now here everyone is celebrating Depp's team for using the same exact tactic. It's gross and absurd to me. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not "team amber" or "team depp." I think they're both extremely in the wrong and this is clearly a lawsuit about money and power more than anything else, from both sides. @@bryanwoods3373 "its not scummy, it's a common court tactic" sounds like you and i dont share the same world view, because to me those are practically synonymous. most "common court tactics" are extremely scummy. we live in a society where your "justice" is determined by how clever and witty your lawyers can be, rather than by actually analyzing facts and making good faith arguments. engaging in a bad faith argument such as "the clearly objective counsel hired by the witness is actually biased" is scummy, whether the lawyers do it well or not. Yet she'd never met least of all professionally assessed Depp, and can produce not one single scrap of evidence to support such a heinous accusation beyond "Amber says so and her therapist believes her, so it must be true". Pathetic! And this woman has the nerve to call herself a FORENSIC psychologist?! What a joke! Thankfully Dr Hughes was finally forced to cut the crap and admit she's a professional witness for hire to Amber Heard's lawyers (who she's worked for before), for a walloping rate of $500 an hour. She's clearly speaking to a pre-arranged, agenda-driven narrative, and that narrative is to promote Amber Heard and trash Johnny Depp. Dr Hughes can't win here. Either she genuinely doesn't believe Amber Heard's recent, professionally administered personality test results, in which case she can't read data. Or she does believe her colleague Dr Curry's findings that Heard FAKED the symptoms of PTSD and shows classic signs of personality disorders like Histrionic Personality Disorder that drive her abusive conduct and pathological lies. In other words, Dr Hughes is either incompetent, or dishonest - neither of which look good for her! 🤣🤣🤣

What are her professional credentials to be acting as a police detective in this case conducting an investigation and determining criminal act, suspect, motive, opportunity, and so on?
