Depp's attorneys are teaching a masterclass on trial prep and cross examination. As a fellow lawyer, this has been a beautiful trial to watch. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to prepare for witness examination. The level of preparation by his lawyers is absolutely amazing.

I feel like Johnny realized at about the same time they did how badly this quack was screwing up. Seems like Turd's team prepared her for the stand, Johnny's actually explained what was going on beyond his time on the stand, they wanted him to understand what was going on. Watching his face as the quack spoke, I feel like he did.

Depp's Lawyer: "You'd agree the sky is blue right?" Dr. Spiegel: "That would depend on the definition of sky and also whether it was cloudy or not and what time of day it was including the angle of the sun and whether we are talking about a sunrise/sunset sky not to mention one's perception of color. For instance, color is perceived by the mind after receiving electrical signals from light receptors in they eyes and is interpreted subjectively. Therefore, one person's definition of "blue" may differ from another person's definition.

"So what you're saying is, it's unethical to imply that the sky has a particular colour, which is based on its subjective nature, therefore, rendering a professional opinion without diagnosing it from a particular perspective, such as people who are colourblind, would violate the wavelengths of the colour spectrum with respect to how simultaneous sunshine and rainfall presents the colours of the rainbow in a certain order and the physics of how the universe governs mother nature in visualising these colours... That's how I'm interpreting what you're saying"

It's strange because her legal team and the experts that they've brought, her psychiatrists, therapists, everyone ... It's like she just had a team of lawyers slapped dashed together real quick and got whatever experts they could round up, despite how well (or terribly) they testified, despite having very little likeability on the stand, and despite seeming to have very little practice in doing so, and just put them up on the stand 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ her lawyers have been flat out incorrect several times, showing they didn't really have the facts, they tried to submit a photo into evidence that Amber claimed was from 2015 to support a particular claim about a particular incident and forensics found the metadata was from years before. Her whole set up is just unprepared and I feel bad for her in a really weird way.

I am a psychiatrist myself and I feel ashamed of this spectacle. It makes me worry about the portrayal of our profession. Please know that most psychiatrists are decent, trustworthy doctors, especially the ones who have had their training more recently (the quality of training has improved hugely over the last decades). Most of us have had excellent, diligent training and we work in accordance with the highest ethical standards. This is one of those old bad apples in our field who make things more difficult for younger generations of psychiatrists. I hope he retires soon.

Dennison is sharp as hell. He's not like Camille, he doesn't match wits in rapid fire or yank him around by his collar. At first, he barely seems to able to grasp the "expert's" testimony and needs him to explain the simplest thing. But, while this lunatic is running his mouth, thinking he's putting on a dazzling show for a roomful of morons, the lawyer is cruising in under the radar to quietly sidle up and park by his jugular. He uses the quack's contempt and grandiosity against him like jujitsu. Instead of clashing with his opponent, he lays brutal traps, then methodically leads him toward his doom. He reminds me of Peter Falk's old detective character, Columbo, who used to stick close to his quarry, giving the impression of a slow witted cop the suspect can easily manipulate into drawing the wrong conclusion. But his frustration grows as Columbo fails to grasp the clues he's being fed and keeps investigating. Eventually his desperation and arrogance lead the bad guy to incriminate himself at the same time he realizes his fatal error in underestimating the slow witted detective toying with him all along.

As a statistician, it concerns me how the psychiatrist confused the inverse around 41 minutes in. If you listen to the question the lawyer asks, it can be rephrased as "Of those with substance abuse disorder and narcissistic personality traits, how many commit IPV" but the psychiatrist responds with the inverse, "Of those who commit IPV, how many have substance abuse disorder and narcissistic personality traits" - they are not the same probability!! It would be like asking "Of the dogs with short legs, how many are corgis" and replying with "Of all corgis, 100% have short legs"... :/

If he had stayed quiet, people would assume he's smart because he's a doctor. This is the most epic self-inflicted public humiliation ever 🤣. The way he cringefully argues with Dennison is so tragic. I think even Dennison felt sorry for him. This doctor is surely going to end up in a psych ward as a patient. This is absolute career and social suicide 🤣

This guy literally said, when being told why a fictional acting role is not an accurate display of one's cognitive ability, that he did not know that the role of an actor is to pretend. Literally, that's what he was saying. Dude was trying to tell him, "but, I mean you at least know they practice a certain diction, demeanor, etcetera, for a role, right?" And bro said "No, I'm not an expert on acting and I don't know that." Homie actually does not know that when an actor plays a fiction character, or any character who isn't himself, that said actor is ACTing. He didn't know that.... because he's not a..."professional" in the field of acting.... He doesn't know the definition of the WORD "act", is more like it. Mans is literally not a professional speaker of his own native language...... I am just 🤦

I am so pleased that JD's team did not try to stop this guy from ranting. He did not do himself any favours during this interaction. I loved watching Camille's reactions and her sneaky looks at the Jury, to see their reactions. She also looked towards the Judge, a couple of times, to see her reactions too. Check out the people in the court, as well. He was the best witness JD could have, possibly, hoped for.
