there is this guy that I hire to do some work... he has shown me all these buildings around town that he said he has helped build but surprisingly he doesnt even know how to use a circular saw or drill gun. I hire him to help clean-up job sites and I am sure that was what he did on those buildings he has said he has helped built. He was hired to clean or move materials around.

these are formerly abandoned villages same as in Italy. District offices sell them quite cheap with the obligation that the owner has to keep the buildings intact. Some mayors even give people some money when they move into abandoned villages.

Hi Rachel! See my comment at the top as of 2-8-21. You could do like this German couple did. They bought a whole abandoned village in the mountains in southern France. I stayed there in October 1975. Back then they paid $20,000 for the whole village! I think they were even in National Geographic Magazine if I recall correctly. When I hiked around there, very quiet and beautiful, I saw another abandoned village also all made of stone. All they did to their village was clean it up and put roofs, windows and doors on them. You could do like Johnny I think did and draw tourists to your village, that's if any villages are still abandoned. They are fairly remote. I hiked a long ways up steep grades to get there. It's all easier said than done, but still I bet you could maybe do similar.

Johnny..... this place is Breath taking! It breaks my heart that you are selling this... I would live to see you invest in this place and make it a resort vacation site for the public. Add a gift shop and a of a cafe for lighter eating for breakfasts and lighter lunches then the fine dining for evenings... Perhaps some bicycles for close travel... It would be an amazing destination vacationing site .... Bookings by the day and week and months. Because 37 acres of land, 17 kilometers inland from the coast - even the cõte d'azur! - is not worth that kind of money. He has himself recently realised that, and the property is now listed for sale at $39 million. Given that you can get entirely sweet farmhouses with more than ten acres for the price of $1.3 million in the same region, I rather suspect he won't find a buyer for the new price, either. But… what celebrities don’t understand they’re going to lose so much money because to keep up with a house like this it’s takes a lot of maintenance. I grew up in this village. Not in his private compound but the small provincial village that his compound was in. We had a villa in a neighboring hill where we would spend long summer holidays. We occasionally would have journalists with telephoto lenses wondering up our driveway looking for a vantage point or looking lost. and occasionally the odd supercar would roar up our long winding driveway at odd hours of the night and a confused driver would step out asking for directions. You could then hear its engines echo through the valley until they found his compound. I used to regularly see Johnny down in the main village of Plan de la Tour sitting at the local cafe called bar de la poste wearing a beret and sipping a cafe au lait keeping himself to himself. He would ride down there on a bicycle. I think he liked the area because it was so rural and remote and most the local villagers wouldn't have even cared who he was and it was about a 20 minute drive into St Tropez.

What we would get more frequently during boar season was dogs running right through our pool area, following a scent followed by a group of French hunters with shotguns over their shoulders pretending to look confused while my mother and sisters who were sunbathing by the pool quickly covered themselves up!
