Jean-Philippe Smet alias Johnny Hallyday was an absolute fan of Elvis Presley! He anyway wouldn't be ashamed being compared to Tina Turner! He said once to Lara Fabian you are me as a girl, which she considered with reason to be the best compliment he could say to her! Johnny Hallyday was really a beast on stage, and every french singers admit nobody can ever be able to be as good! either to be as much charismatic! Johnny was very generous, giving of his body, and would do anything for his public, even once giving a full free concert right in front the Eiffel tower! He said once to a journalist he was feeling well only on stage with his public! But in reality, he was giving so much of his person and it was so tiring that between each concerts tour, he had to go to Saint-Barthélemy Island or to LA, where he was un-known, to rest between each very tiring concert tour! He had a very high standard of living and would spend all the money he had, that's why he had to give so many concerts! The french would forgive every single excess, just because it was Johnny! He was very fond of nice sport-cars and Harley Davidson! He decided to be buried in Saint-Barthélemy Island, a french island that he loved in the Caribbean sea and lots of fans were fully disappointed because it was far away from France and lots of fans couldn't afford to come to meditate on his grave! May Johnny rest in peace!

Turning the weather into a storm To return to the wild Forcing open doors, barricades Break the wolf out of its cage To feel the wind being unleashed Beat the blood in our veins Turn up the sound of the guitars And the sound of motorbikes starting up All it takes is a spark, It'll take just a spark, just a gesture All it will take is a spark, A word of love To... To light the fire To light the fire And make the devils and gods dance Light the fire Light the fire And see the flame grow in your eyes Light the fire Leave behind all our sorrows Our battle-axes, our problems Break free from our chains Release the lion in the arena I want the lightning and the flash The smell of gunpowder, the thunder I want the party and the laughter I want the crowd to go wild All it will take is a spark Just a touch, just a touch All it will take is a spark A little bit of daylight To... To light the fire To light the fire And make the devils and gods dance Light the fire Light the fire And see the flame grow in your eyes Light the fire All it will take is a spark With just a gesture All it takes is one spark A word of love for For, for, for... To light the fire Light the fire And make the devils and gods dance Light the fire To light the fire And see the flame grow in your eyes Oh, let's light the fire Light the fire And make the devils and gods dance Light the fire Light the fire And see the flame grow in your eyes Light the fire Light the fire Lighting the fire Light the fire... ! Pascal Obispo and Zazie are really great artists. I advise you to listen to "Fan" by Obispo and "Zen" by Zazie. Hi Dereck, glad you liked this anthem :-) And I very much support your comparison as "male Tina Turner", Johnny Hallyday was always over the top. Sadly he passed away a couple of years ago. There's a song written years ago picturing what the days after his death would look like, it's named "Le jour de la mort de Johnny" by Les Fatals Picards, that is a humour song band who participated at the Eurosong contest in 2007 with "L'Amour à la française", a mock frenglish song. You also mentioned Zazie and Pascal Obispo in the credits, they were both coachs at The Voice France, and you could react to some of their songs, they're kind of cool 😃 Zazie songs : "Zen", "Un point c'est toi", "J'envoie valser", "Speed", "Je suis un homme", "Rue de la paix" Pascal Obispo songs : "Lucie", "Tombé pour elle", "Si tu m'assassines", "Personne"

[I specify I'm a relatively balanced sane and Introverted person].
@believeitornot26503 жыл бұрын
You're partly right; I would rather say he's a technician, not a "robot". Needing to be mentored at this point to deliver a piece is something which can be typically found in a lyrical register. Becoming annoying when it's superimposed on rock in particular. It's redundant and I think that's why I find it pleasant to listen to once in a while for his vocal performance. It avoids feeling of weariness...

He also performed this song in a movie called "Jean-Philippe". It's a movie about a man (played by french actor Fabrice Luchini) who's an absolut fan of Johnny Hallyday and who find himself projected in a world where Jean-Philippe Smet (Hallyday's birth name) never succed in the music industry, never became Johnny Hallyday. Jean-Philippe Smet owns an humble bowling alley. Fabrice, interpreted by Fabrice Luchini, is going to look for the man and try to help him become what he should have been : a rock'n'roll star! At the end of the movie, Fabrice managed to prevent a famous singer to show at one of his concert in Le Stade de France (French national Stadium, the greatest of France near Paris) and push Jean-Philippe Smet to get on stage an perfomed his song. Jean-Philippe starts singing "Allumer le feu". The audience starts yelling and criticizing but by the end of the song, the all country (the concert is broadcast) got his mind blow!
